Nice! we found that with the new cooler/filter setup on the bullet, the transmission is a lot happier on our running through the Blue Ridge Mountains this vacation... even with 90+ degree ambient temps!

I'd cut down that mounting plate they are on and make some form of scoop to force the air up into them. Behind the bumper they aren't going to see much air flow with any velocity.

The suppport for the oil cooler does not restrict
airflow, the lower support for the trans cooler
        could lose some weight.
But both are located behind the two openings
each side of the front licence plate mount, some
third gens have fog lights mounted there.
I also used those small spacers to set both coolers back from the bumper support allowing more air flow.
These cars are so tight in front of the rad it's a right b*****d, no room to swing a wrench.

How they look from the front.

          Oil Cooler.

          Trans cooler.

Just did the test drive, 80mph at 3000rpm and the water temp went to 195, a tad better than 210.
Today's temperature during the drive was 80F.

            The car did'nt lose it's drive-ability either.
BTW, I have two bottles of Purple Ice in the coolant, pretty useless.

                  Another try out.
I´ve just removed my deep fan shroud....

....and replaced it with a shallower one. this´ll give the air some space ´tween fans and block.

those look like "stacked plate type" rather than "tube-and-fin type"
coolers. if so, they are pretty dang solid. i wouldnt worry about it myself,
anything strong enough to break those would also be strong enough
to go right through any kind of screen or grill....

Update: installed a new Edelbrock water pump in place of the Weiand.
Round town in the heat today it kept a steady 180F.....
I also added a long upper rad support, directs air straight at the front of the motor........hopefully....

Replaced my old air dam up front with one 3/4" deeper.
