heh...I was thinking about putting an axle under it, but it would cost money. This one is going to be cheap. ultra cheap. The car was free. I have stuff to build a motor, and maybe the trans too, already. I'll do some lightening, too. so it might have some parts going on ebay, if anything on it is worth anything.

I drove one of those as a rental car in California. It actually reduced the hate I had for it - it was a kick in the Santa Cruz mountains

this one has some fancier than stock handling/braking stuff on it. Note the 17" Cobra wheels...

all that will be lost on me, unfortunately. I'm going to take it drag racing. Probably with all that neat stuff (even the wheels?) intact.

Doing something new is fun - that should be a kick, planning on keeping the IRS?

No wonder I didn't regconize anything.. We tend to stay away from subbers.
                  Sounds like a fun project

the PO's son put gears/track lock in it, so I plan on keeping the IRS and try not to break it.

I got most of the interior out of the car already, still need to tackle the dash/climate control/wiring. Plan is to leave only the bare essentials for street driving/racing.

If they are true cobra wheels (worth more) then it has the standard mustang / ranger / crown vic bolt pattern, (not the one they put on the tbird / mark 8) maybe get a more drag friendly wheel size / tire.

that's what I was told about the bolt pattern...it was changed to 4.5" so normal wheels will fit. But the brakes (especially the fronts) are kind of large, and I don't have any other 4.5" bolt circle wheels, so I might just keep the cobra wheels on it, see if I can find some used drag radials for the back, and some not quite so old tires for the front.

I am sure you will have less than 3k in it, but do you think you wold be willing to sell it for 3k? Kind of like a 3k claim rule...

oh, that's the plan. It won't be something that anyone would actually want to spend money for....

A Boss "Nine" Hood scoop would work nicely with those body lines....
