I LSR they don't have to necessarily be in front of the bellhousing but must be shielded as they pass the flywheel. Not sure for NHRA etc, but that makes sense - lots of race cars have rear tanks so the line has to pass the flywheel at some point. I don't think our rulebook specifies the location of regulators, etc. just that "fuel system components" must be shielded. You NHRA guys probably have info to add here.

I have gotten some crap from track techs over my factory fuel line inside the frame rail. Once before I went to the stick. I have also gotten shit about my capped lug nuts, ie tech couldnt see how far stud threads engaged lug nuts. Blah. Blah. I guess you are assuming I am building this to drag race. Not!

No not looking at a racing/sanctioning body standpoint per se ... more of a general safety standpoint ...

I looked and the regulator.is in front of the flywheel by around six inches. If the clutch gets through the can in an explosion, I will be more worried about my feet.

Are the treads the same one the log fittings and the gas line? If so why can it not be flipped and twisted?

On the down side, the new intake completely killed low end torque. I expected some, but damn, it doesn't start pulling until 4,000 rpm. But, it pulls way past 6,000 rpm now. Made some huge noise and scared some people as I came screaming down the freeway on ramp doing about 70 mph in second gear. Now, I didn't do a thing to the carb, it could very well be running way lean with the big intake ports.

The question now, is to keep it or not. In it's naturally aspirated form, it has all the torque of a 283. But, the turbos will be adding copious amounts of torque. I may go down to an Airgap. We will see.

That's odd. My cam is a touch bigger .... 550/565 243/252 on a 102 c/l and my Vic jr pulls good down at 2800 or so ...

Makes me wonder if I'm giving up something down low with that intake.

I wouldn't have expected that result on a 383. Do you have room for a 4 hole spacer?

It's currently running an one inch open. I think I will pull that off today.

My motor hated the four hole spacer.
