    opinions needed

I have a 64 f100 that I purchased off of clist earlier this year.I bought it to have somethnig to drive to the lonestar roundup. It is someone elses project they tired of years ago.I made it run and drive safely and reliably and went to the round up.My issue is that I really don't like the truck after having it for 8 months and discovering how much work it would take to really finish it.I have less than 2k in the truck.
I have had an urge for a early 60's ford, mopar,or chevy car for a while.I found a guy here in town that has a61 tbird that is an abandoned project from 6 years ago.He had the engine and trans rebuilt and stopped. It needs paint and interior, but is 99% complete with no rust that I could find.I can trade him my truck straight across for the car. What do ya'll think?Btw my truck will have to have about 60% of the sheetmetal replaced if I fixed it.
    Thanks for the opinions.Dan

If you like the bird better than the truck I say go for it. Unless you can buy the car for less then you can sell the truck, that way you would have some cash for working on the bird.

Sounds like a pretty darned good deal to me, fresh engine and trans rebuilds, and the bird is more solid - most importantly - you like the bird more than you like the truck.... as long as the bird has a clean title, giterdun.
There's always something new to learn.

Yup....if it's not a vehicle that you love, then you really should get rid of it and find what you want. Or if you don't know what you really want, then you probably should stick to stuff that doesn't need a lot of work.

If your not happy with it..move on..but I am with Jim here...stay away form stuff that needs a lot of work...find something you don't have to spend a lot of time and money on...give it some TLC and then if it ain't what floats your boat..move on.

If you're not motivated to mess with it and not attached to it, it's basically yard art right? If you like the TBird more, go for it.

It sounds like you've already made up your mind, just wanting us to nudge you in that direction.

I'm with the others... if you like the car - go for it. If it runs and drives, the rest of what it needs can be done as time, money, and desire allow. If you get tired of it or find that it needs more work than you want to put into it, it doesn't sound like you'll be losing anything on the deal if you just sell it.

Thanks for all the reply's.I have thought about it for 3 days and still want to do it ..so bye truck.Hello tbird. The bird needs alot of work, but it is a helluva lot closer than the truck and its all there. It also hasn't had who knows how many southern engineers working on it.When I bought the truck I pulled about 20 foot of house wiring out of it and partially rewired it.
                        Thanks again,Dan.

You don't come to this crew of automotive enablers to be talked out of getting another car.
