Why did you do the walls before the roof? I assumed the roof was normally 1st.....

The only reason why the walls went up first was because there was a two week lead time on the roof insulation. The first time it showed up it was ripped and damaged - not cool for the money spent. Earlier this week more showed up again but it was damaged too though not as bad. So out of what showed up we are using the good stuff and sending the rest back unless they can give me a real good deal I will keep it and use it in the walls. I'm leaving the ceiling exposed (white vapor barrier backing) so I want it to look nice. This insulation goes over the perlins then the metal sheeting sandwiches it all together when it gets screwed down.Nick Smithberg

it does look nice, right up and until the moment it fills with water because the Russians didn't tighten all the screws down.... don't ask me how I know this

My garage in Denison has never leaked a drop - have drunk rednecks build your next one? Those rubber washered screws are cool. It's 12 years old and still dry. 70mph winds in a summer squall are totally common at Texoma. Pretty big lake.Originally posted by SuperBuickGuy View Postit does look nice, right up and until the moment it fills with water because the Russians didn't tighten all the screws down.... don't ask me how I know this

Russians built it.... seriously, but I didn't do a pee test before they started working so I have no idea their level of sobrietyOriginally posted by Beagle View PostMy garage in Denison has never leaked a drop - have drunk rednecks build your next one? The Bro and I erected the steel but I too had rednecks (not sure of state of drunkenness) apply the roof and side sheeting. They also installed the doors and windows. So far so good - been about 7 years.
Evidently, drunk rednecks are better than Russians.....

I got my 2-post from Pace Tools and they have a 4 post as well. The structure is Chinese (unfortunately) but the pump is US-made. So far so good - but would not be my choice if I made my living with it. The motor (Baldor) just needed some repair but the hoist seems fine. Pace was by far the cheapest when I got mine but it is somewhat lighter duty than the units I see in the local commercial shops. For example, the arms that go under the vehicle are a smaller cross-section.

WOW, that's a nice building too! I'm buying my 2 post from Eagle. I talked to a guy over on the Garage Journal who installs lifts and he gave me the "real" run down and feedback on a whole bunch of different ones. I chose Eagle because it fit my price range and the good feedback he gave on quality / fitment.Originally posted by abadwillys View Postyour building is taking shape nicely and looks great!!
