Last night, on a late night dog-food run, I spied a pair of extinguishers on the clearance rack. For $16 each they came home with me, I'll put them somewhere conspicious.
Shoot for that much, even if the insurance company just finds the shells in the smouldering ruins, its worth not having a claim denied.
You have already mounted an extinguisher in the new digs, right John? Shop and house?Of all the paths you take in life - make sure a few of them are dirt.Comment

Thanks for the reminder - yes - after burning my hands on the ill fated benz project - I purchased a few more extinguishers for the old shop - they will remain there where the welders and torches will be for some time.
The p/o of the new house was quite prolific with the extinguishers - some have lost their charge - need to contact FD about having them recharged, but there are several still in the "safe" zone on the gauge. 3 in the shop - 2 in attached garage, one in the furnace room, one in the kitchen - but need to confirm the locations.
Quick update from the metal working maniac, the bumper has undergone major surgery, along with the fenders:

No - it doesn't run yet - in fact, the engine, transmission, driveshaft, radiator, wiring, brake lines, fuel lines, and fuel tank are not in the car.
It's going to be white btw - ALL white, not just the white roof and interior steel.
It may get some sort of design or stripe - not sure yet - depends on how long it takes to get to paint, and what the calendar says that day...There's always something new to learn.Comment

A HUGE Thanks to Russel and George - the manual seat tracks for the Mk8 seats are home! I went to Georges place last night to retrieve them, after he got them from Russel at the Ohio Mile last month.
Thanks guys! There's always something new to learn.Comment

Okay, if you know that name (Chartreuse) because of the tarantino disaster "Grind House" or Death Proof , or maybe even this 110 proof disaster,Originally posted by STINEY View PostChatreuse paint splatters for the win!

it's okay... otherwise, I don't think guys are supposed to know the name of any non-primary color...
maybe Beige.
Pictures of this white car? Huh? Huh? Huh? ???Last edited by Beagle; June 14, 2013, 07:16 AM.Flying south, with a flock of bird dogs.Comment

Fishermen sure seem to know about colors - and which ones work best in what water in what sort of light..... just sayin.
once I have picures - I will share - the maniacal metal master is not sharing any with me since the front bumper shots.... something about a surprise. There's always something new to learn.Comment

Uh oh.
Its gonna be Mauve. Or PicketFence. Or EnthusiasmTumbleweed. Or Taupe.
You are in big Doo-Doo Brown trouble, my friend.
Beags, I live with a female.......I have to laugh at the rediculous color names. I see it as my MaleDuty to remember the names and periodically use them in an incorrect and inappropriate manner.
I also get called an ass quite frequently for my efforts. Its all good.Of all the paths you take in life - make sure a few of them are dirt.Comment

Unfortunately - automotive color names are no better.
"heather mist" WTF is that?
I know the falcon is going to be Wimbledon white, we gave up on the "ming green" or acapulco blue or some mix of them.
Plain and simple, white, no metallic, no pearl... just white. There's always something new to learn.Comment
