Yeah.....around here red usually fades to pink. What kind of weird voodoo made that fade to off-purple?

Thats it, parts of it were white before the "paint job" the only straight part of the entire car is the roof.
I will probably have a spare drive shaft for you stiney - I will get a measurement for you at some point.
Wheels, 8.8, dash, column are sill unclaimed, along with the rest of the interior - seats are all spoken for. Tail lights are an abomination. can't recall the speedo.Last edited by milner351; October 24, 2012, 02:58 PM.There's always something new to learn.Comment

Finally got back into the shop after almost week.
Had some help - and got the engine/trans/kmember out of the 89 fox $500 rust bucket - we've done the motoring public a favor taking this pile off the road - one hit with a ball-peen caved in the subframe above the coilspring mounts like it was rotten balsawood.... this car is RUSTY. Pulled the fuel tank as well, and just about got the rear axle out before calling it a day.
Next weekend the shell of the car goes bye bye - and if the guy shows with the $ as agreed - I end up with the full power train, wiring, and computer for free, and get paid a couple hundred for my time. Not a bad deal all in all.
Now - the question - run the power train as is (bearings and gaskets?) to shake down the falcon - or - put the efi on the fresh 302 (stock PCM programming probably won't be happy with the x303 cam) or - KISS and put the carb/mechanical fuel pump set up in with the fresh 302 and keep this one as a back up?There's always something new to learn.Comment

MAF may put up with it, but I'd probably go carb'd with that cam. The stock efi manifold is pretty limited up top. Your car is light, I don't know that you will miss the low/mid loss compared to what you'll get back up top.Last edited by Beagle; November 4, 2012, 07:20 PM.Flying south, with a flock of bird dogs.Comment

Redfox mustang is almost ready to go...
Last night I pulled the computer and wiring harness including the coil, sensors, relays, etc, I believe I got everything hooked to any wire coming out of that box.... fishing it through the firewall around the HVAC box was interesting - but it's out and neatly wrapped up in a box waiting.
console, front seats, shifter, e-brake handle are all out waiting for new owners, wheels/tires are still for sale (one is fubared)
rear spoiler is about the last piece I need to pull off the car before it leaves on Saturday.
Engine/trans and K member are still bolted together - resting on the legs of the cherry picker.
The Lovejoy coupling came in, so once the fox is gone I can get that log splitter project done, move the '54 to winter storage, and get back to the falcon - after I restore the 59 firetruck pedal car for Lee's Christmas present this year.
We're also house with barn shopping.....Last edited by milner351; November 8, 2012, 05:57 AM.There's always something new to learn.Comment

Red-fox has successfully moved to it's next home - where it will be further dis-assembled and it's parts used to transform a strip car back into a street/strip car. The guys that picked it up were great - hope they join up here. Father and son drag racers, Dad backed the trailer between the hoist columns like a surgeon. We used the hoist arms to lift the body by the roof and a strap running under the rear wheel wells - that way the arms of the hoist weren't trapped under the vehicle, set it on the trailer, pivoted the arms out of the way and off they went.
Got the '54 winterized and stored in a friends barn for the winter - nice to have some room to move in the shop now! There's always something new to learn.Comment

I was getting really tired of worrying about where the grinder spark spray was aimed and what might be in harms way. I think divided workshops are genius, dirty work on one side of a wall - clean work or stuff you don't want messed up stays behind closed doors. There's always something new to learn.Comment

You should see the look I saw on a friend's face when a customer has a $20,000 paint job done before having a roll cage installed. I told him to charge double for the nightmare of worring about every spark, flying metal spec, and the heat.Originally posted by milner351 View PostI was getting really tired of worrying about where the grinder spark spray was aimed and what might be in harms way.
