You wouldn't even have to radius, with that nice flat floor plan you could put some big tubs and a shortened nine inch easily.Comment

No - we hate him Matt - in the best kind of way - he's out there where it's always sunny, never snows, and nothing ever rusts.
we need a cheap dually that runs on air, and an aluminum 6 car trailer to put behind it - and a guy that works for free to keep driving it back and forth....There's always something new to learn.Comment

What do you do when it's below zero outside, too cold to warm up the shop, but you're going crazy thinking about all the projects that need to be done?
BUY PARTS
CJ pony parts running 20% off plus free shipping
65-73 Mustang 2.25" aluminized tail pipes = under $65 for the pair to my door.
They should be a good start to get the exhaust out from under the car - and no longer pointed straight at the fuel tank. There's always something new to learn.Comment

the tail pipes came in but there's still way too much snow and salt around to move the car to the other shop to install them.
Lots of other things I can do where it sits.
Started to get the new shop into shape - got lumber cut and screwed into place on the pallet rack so I can start loading them with stuff, got a start on the first work bench, and brought a load of mostly wiring and stereo stuff over from the other shop. For now the plan is for the home shop to be for clean work - like wiring, plumbing, engine builds, etc.. and the other shop where the hoist is for fabrication and metal work - the welders band saw etc will stay there for a while. It's going to be a long transition - but at least I have some semblance of a plan. There's always something new to learn.Comment

A man with a plan and two shops! I can not remember did you ever get the bump steer 100%?Comment

John, having just been at your place and seeing what you have to work with, first thing I'd do is back the cars outside when it's nice out, give some room so you aren't walking around them constantly, then decide what's going on those racks. I hope to be getting some of those soon. At my house, I have a bunch of wire racks and totes on them labeled which car they're for. So divide up the space for Mustang parts, Falcon parts, non auto related, and so on, and just start putting it all up. When the Belair is gone you're going to have so much room in there. But getting stuff up off the floor and the compressor moved so you can't hear it quite so much is where I'd start.
If you had Friday off and we weren't itching to get to the show, we could have dived in and lent you a hand!Last edited by VTJUNK; March 10, 2014, 07:12 AM.Comment

Great to meet you guys Andy!
The Belair is scheduled to be picked up 18 or 19 this month.
I have bins and a label maker - just need to go about the tedious task of organizing stuff.
I've learned some things shouldn't go in bins.... some things need smaller clear tackle box style containers to keep sorted.
I have tons of wiring stuff - that was the first set of bins I moved over from the other shop yesterday.
I'm going to put up a rack to hold spools of wire - and put all the connectors in divided bins.
One thing at a time.
I was under the falcon draining the last bit of last summers fuel out to use in the chain saw - and noticed how much the upper bushings are deflecting due to the offset shackles.
I emailed Crites to see if they would sell their aluminum bushings separately from their offset shackle kit. If I can come up with a set that work well - that will get the job done - if not I may be looking at building a short piece of frame rail offset from the OEM rail with tubing to hang the shackles from.Last edited by milner351; March 10, 2014, 12:21 PM.There's always something new to learn.Comment

Rollers for the rear of the spring supported with a piece of tubing is another option that came to mind, maybe even get a piece of thicker gauge sheet to form a three sided box to join to the existing frame rail....There's always something new to learn.Comment

As soon as I get 5 minutes to spend in the shop - I'm going to be looking at putting a trouble light in one of the dash holes previously filled with a choke or hvac control cable and wiring it inline so my alternator wiring looks like this (if i can attache the pdf) currently the voltage gauge in dash shows battery voltage all the time, not 13.5 or there abouts as it should be.
