Secret Hot Rod Magazine Drag Week Issue - What's your take?

Ok, so I call it that tongue in cheek becuase the cover splash says "How to build your car for STREET & STRIP" and it has the cover shot holy of holys a red '69 Camaro and an Orangy 4th Gen Camaro. Should sell by the bucket loads at the news stands. You'll gather mine just arrived in the mail yesterday.

That said, I liked the coverage in the DW article itself and the mix of featured cars. My take is they have hit the right mix for the more general HRM audience while keping with the vibe and all around coolness of the guys (and gals) and the cars that actually show up and complete the event.

And usual there was a lot to learn about some of the cars that we saw haul ass down the track but never got chance to really look over. Thanks to Danny, Jake, Randy and Steven for sharing their secrets with the world.

I have enjoyed the magazine too...............I am still blown away that he wanted to put my turd in the mag, but hey, I am not going to complain. It has been a dream for a long time.

That being said...............................the real Top Secret Squirrel Shit isn't in the article.

I like it. The street/strip article is really good, they covered a lot of stuff that you don't usually read about, as far as making a car go quick and be able to drive it reliably.

They get bonus points for including pics of a couple cars (the engine shot of my car, and Jason's 34 chevy) that drove over 1000 miles just to get to DW, and then that far again to get home afterwards.

coverage of DW really only is important to those who have been on it, or want to (or bash it). So it gets dressed up. I liked it. And my car is in the picture of the tulsa staging lanes!!! It's all good. I wish we had been able to have a final but mother nature was not kind to us!

I got 10 mpg with my small block on Drag Week..............if it matters to anyone. Cruising on the highway at 4000-4200rpm. 65mph was very comfortable. The motor isn't very happy below 3500rpm.

I'm not sure the "Secret" part makes me happy...Kinda like hedging thier bet..."If we downplay the event, we won't get killed when we drop it"...maybe I'm just paranoid.
I can't understand all the fuss about a red small-block che...WHOAH! that squirrel with the purple lightsabre has some sick moves!....what were we talking about??
