Well I have stopped buying stuff for cars I don't own. Is that a step in the right or wrong direction? -
if they're reading this board, fuggedaboutit. Our space program is in deep poop. lol. :S
How's the deal working? That looks like a great place for ya. I'll send positive energy your way cuz dealing with the bank and the real estate people taxes my patience. Even cash deals take a month.

I got permission to take a couple of pictures.
The attached garage.
The back porch.
The wood structure at the end of the porch has a hot tub in it. I'll probably take the structure out and put the hot tub on the ground. That's assuming I can find the leak the plumbing supposedly has.
The lawn from on the back porch.
Inside the barn.
The enclosed part.
One of the out buildings for animals.
Standing at the back of the lot looking back at the house.
Some of the stuff out back. I'll be surprised if he gets even 50% of the stuff clear. Of course some of the stuff wouldn't bother me if he left =P

I've been waiting to post to this thread because although Randal is my good friend who I love dearly and would do most anything for....I hate him. Yep, I can't stand the fact that he has such a cool garage to finish now. You suck my friend. Now you have to bring twice as much beer when you come to visit.

Truthfully though, it couldn't have happened to a better guy. I'm seriously jealous, but glad you got a cool place to build all your junk in. I can't wait to come visit during Bonneville so I can check it out!"A cross thread is better than a lock washer." Earl Lanning...My GrandpaComment

Just five minutes from the current house too. I'm going to be in CA this weekend, but I gather you'll be in Georgia?Escaped on a technicality.Comment

I would try to see what it takes to keep it "farm status" I would think the property taxes would be lower. May only take a few chickens or something. I love the block house, easy to take care of, Just dont ever paint it

I'm not getting any animals, unless I want skeletons in the field. Taxes are way low here. Estimates are looking like $1,500-$1,800/yr. Which is 4x higher than my current house.Escaped on a technicality.Comment

Are you going to sell or rent the current place?
What are your plans to insulate and heat the shop?
Hopefully he leaves behind very useful things - like air compressors, vices, heavy work benches, shelves, etc.
Is there 220v in the shop already? Water? There's always something new to learn.Comment

I'm going to rent out my current house. Only ten years left on the mortgage.
The enclosed area already has fiberglass insulation in the walls and ceiling as well as a wood stove. There is 220v in the shop. I don't know about water, but I'd be surprised if it doesn't as there are water stands all the way out to the back of the lot.Escaped on a technicality.Comment
