Any day you are able to drive the car home from the track is a good day. Some are better than others though. Car ran awesome and the arb sure seemed to keep the car stable, but for the top ten street car event I was running, I had to run my drag radials and I just could not get them to hook. Best 60 of the day was a 1.80. It would just spin at the hit like the tires were wet. Hit, spin, pedal, hook was the norm. It ran 11.13 several times in spite of anything I tried. I should have moved the uca's to the upper holes on the sbox but didn't have the right tools with me. That would have moved the IC way our further and might have calmed the hit and allowed the tires to hook. Once hooked up though, the car was fast, I was just giving up 3 tenths in the first 60 feet. Overall a fun day and I did get to lay the smack down on a 600+rwhp corvette so that was fun. It was long though because there were a ton of cars there and there were multiple oil downs and 1 car scraped the wall. I sure missed running my slicks though!

Can you run the DOT ET Street slicks in the Street Car class or is it Drag Radials only? The Drag Radials want different IC, %AS, and shock settings and there is doubt they are fussier and less forgiving. But, when they are right you'll be quicker.Drag Week 2006 & 2012 - Winner Street Race Big Block Naturally Aspirated - R/U 2007 Broke DW '05 and Drag Weekend '15 Coincidence?Comment

Yes we can run any DOT tire. I just already had the drag radials and totally did not expect to get placed in the #1 slot. So now I guess maybe I should get a set of bias ET Streets and see what happens. HahaLife is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Here's the list as it stands after this weekend.

looooooool
So here's the deal. Cars entered in the Street class all got to make 2 test runs with instant green and no clocks. They were going to pick the top 12 and do some random pairings to set the initial list. Unfortunately due to the delays, they just ran out of time and it was starting to get dark and cold, so they decided to set the initial list by random drawing. Looks like I got lucky and drew the #1 spot. There's plenty of faster cars below me, so my time at the top will be pretty short! There's only 2 n/a cars. Me and the Vette in the #8 slot.
Drag radials: Looking back at my measurements and IC calcs after I installed the Sbox, the IC is really long. The car really never tried to hook at all, so after thinking about it all weekend, I think the IC may be too long..... no leverage or weight transfer at all. I can drop the UCA's to the lower hole and pull the IC back to 54" which looks waaay better on paper. If it hit, hooked, then spun, I'd think the IC was too short, but it was like the tires were wet... nothing... pedal, hook and away we go. No pressure changes or shock changes helped at all. So I'm gonna fiddle with the suspension a little more before I decide to chunk the tires in the trash.

54" seems long to me, but I'm newer to these cars than you. From what I read drag radial cars want a lot shorter IC. I didn't know the Baseline caclulations were exportable, or was that a screen shot? I've been trying to decide what kind of adjustable upper mount to use on the 9" housing as it seems easier to create adjustability there than on the chassis. Your approach may prove the better choice.Drag Week 2006 & 2012 - Winner Street Race Big Block Naturally Aspirated - R/U 2007 Broke DW '05 and Drag Weekend '15 Coincidence?Comment

54" is way shorter than it is now, so at least I'll be going in the right direction. Been reading a lot about what IC's work for what the last couple of days. Seems like 40" out and 9" up comes up quite frequently so I would be getting much closer. Heck, anything should be better than it was on Saturday!
As far as the plot graphic, I just copied and pasted the link to it. It is a dynamic graphic that is created on demand by the data in url of the link.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

I should have know not to measure anything until everything has had a chance to settle in. I remeasured it as it sits and it is a little different from what I measured before. I will post the corrected info tomorrow as it is on my computer at work, but it looks like it may be the right way to go.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

As it sits now, the IC is 126" out and 17" high. Yowza. Anti-squat is 57% which explains why this thing, even with air in the left airbag to counter the body twist, crams the body down on the rear tires. 100% anti-squat means the suspension neither compresses nor extends. Less than 100 is compression, more than 100 is extension.
By dropping to the other hole it gets better, but not perfect. IC is 37.06" out and 12.06" up. Anti-squat is pretty high at 136%, but I'm not as concerned about that as I am pulling the IC back to a more reasonable location.
Hope it doesn't turn it into a giant wheel stander. hahaLife is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

I don't really want a big wheelie. I like my header tubes to be round!
This pic shows what I am talking about. The car was launching fairly level that night, but was still cramming the slicks up in the fenders. I think the slicks were a pretty good crutch for a chassis that was not working properly.

You get that anti-squat adjusted and that thing is going to launch WAY different........Might need front suspension limiters next? Be real fun to follow along and see.Of all the paths you take in life - make sure a few of them are dirt.Comment

I hope it launches way different than it did last weekend! It was pretty anti-climactic. Get set to get pinned in the seat and.... nothing. It probably would have worked ok on the slicks, but they are not an option for this class.
Track will be open this weekend, but both my kid's baseball teams have their first games on Saturday so i won't be able to go.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.
