To install the C-Clip Elims you remove the backing plate bolts and replace them with longer ones that screw into the eliminators? Do you remove the stock bearings?

Yes, mine have studs that screw into the eliminators, then go thru the backing plate and flange with nuts on the backside of the flange.
You remove the stock bearings AND have to cut down the end of the axle tubes. Hardest part by far on both my axles was getting the axle bearings out.

Axles have arrived!
The c-clip eliminators are very close to the back of the studs! Might need to do a little clearancing for my peace of mind.

"Self Clearancing"
I jest, I'd probably be looking at doing the same from what I see in the picture.

These are used and the PO said he never had any trouble with them hitting, but they are pretty cozy. I'm going to hit the tips of the studs with a flapper wheel to give them a little more breathing room.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Took them home and the holes in my wheels are almost big enough to fit the studs. The hubs will slide in until you reach the unthreaded portion of the studs. Just by how it felt, you could probably tap on the axles and they would go on down, but I did not want to get one stuck. It's good to know the wheels will not require much work at all to fit.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Pulled the rest of the back seat out yesterday and took out the sound deadener under it. It comes out in giant hunks.

Lucky dog. I always have to chisel that stuff out in itty-bitty pieces......someday I'll get some dry-ice and freeze it good then smack it with a hammer. Well, that's what I tell myself anyways.
Glad its coming off in big chunks for ya!Of all the paths you take in life - make sure a few of them are dirt.Comment

Nice when it comes out that way.
I've also heated it with a heat gun (oversized hair dryer) and had it work well. You have to catch it just when it releases, but before it turns into a gooey mess.I'm still learningComment

I have been doing the factory sound deadener removal the hard way with the air chisel. Haven't any come up in sheets yet. I've played the heat gun but it doesn't seem to save much time vs multiple passes with the little air chisel scraper tool.
I have not had good luck with the 5/8's drive stud lock nuts staying stuck previously. Had to go to the Locktite green bearing stick. No movement since. Make sure the seats the on wheels are clean and square for the drive stud shim to seat on. If these didn't come with shims, washers and nuts, the Mark Williams stuff is really good. You wnat a very snug fit through the rim, I use dry graphite spray on the stud portion and anti seize on the threads. The automotive specialty lubricant and locktite folks love me.Drag Week 2006 & 2012 - Winner Street Race Big Block Naturally Aspirated - R/U 2007 Broke DW '05 and Drag Weekend '15 Coincidence?Comment

Looking at your c-clip eliminator photo you could cut off the quad shock brackets form the housing for a little unsprung weight savings. Are the quad shock frame brackets still there? They unbolt. they were still on mine.Drag Week 2006 & 2012 - Winner Street Race Big Block Naturally Aspirated - R/U 2007 Broke DW '05 and Drag Weekend '15 Coincidence?Comment

83 was before quad shocks, so no brackets. I already chopped them off the other 8.8 housing I have that the 33's will go in. Thanks for the stud lock nut heads up!Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Finally going to get to see how this thing works with the ARB!
