I'm liking the trailer hitch, wheelie bar setup. Nice.

How much taller is it? 3/4" plywood spacer under your GT scoop? You can cut it at the same angle as the scoop, it'll probably look okay. If you want a cowl, I think I saw one recently for sale on CL here. I hate cowls personally, but think I'm about to have to get one myself. The Funnelweb won't fit under the flat hood. I don't hate them so much as just burned out on them. I may put a damn Mopar scoop on mine -

can't annoy me much more than a 6" cowl.

I had to switch to a non-drop base air filter, so it sticks out a lot now! That's a 3" air filter element for reference. I've go some ideas, but will not let the cat out of the bag on that just yet.

Merry Christmas to me. First step towards making it leave better! Strange adjustable shocks from the wifey!

I don't think that one would be tall enough. It's 5"+ out at the front! If I had not used k-member spacers it would be 6.5"+ out!

I have to admit a certain amount of bumming on that. I love that it fit under the factory hood sorta mostly... not that I think anybody is truly stupid enough to buy the "RV cam and glasspacks" story, but still, who'd think it was a 8.9 liter? The ricers would pee on themselves if they did that math.

I thought they peed on themselves anyway. (Shouldn't say that too loud as the youngest son like those things - but he's reasonable).

Yep Beags, I would have rather kept it all on the DL under the stock hood and scoop, but at some point you just gotta say "Screw it, I'm letting the mutha get some fresh air!"

It will definitely be a forward facing scoop though. A cowl hood would have to be pretty darn big to fit over this and even then it's a crap shoot getting one tall enough. Besides, I want it to have a good supply of fresh air.

Now that you are dealing with te Dominator air cleaner falnge size you might consider a 16" diameter aircleaner assembly. When I ran the single dominator and then the dommy sized TB I used a steel 16" base that I modified (body hammer and dollies) so it would sit at an angle, lower in front, which allowed it to clear the lower cowl hood I had at the time. I was able to squeeze in a 3.5" height filter although you can find shorter ones.

Front facing scoops have issues when we drive in the rain as we always seem to on DW. I cut up a plastic parts bin to make my wind and rain deflector for DW 2012 and I'm glad I did it ahead of time so I could fit it properly. I also used i when it was on the trailer there and back from Tulsa.

A deflector or someway to close the scoop is something I had not thought about. That may take some engineering..... I am certainly going to miss the weather-proofing and security the stock scoop provides.

Any chance you can get another stock hood with at least a good center section?

How about continuing the contours of the stock hood, just making them longer? You've got a welder - all you need is some sheet metal and your plasma....
