Good idea! This one is not free but also not out of reach http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/30750...oductId=751312 (exhaust cut out) It currently comes out of manifolds then to cats then they both go into a cat and come out as one, then go to a muffler then split and each side goes into another muffler. I was thinking put the cutout between the last cat and the 1st muffler that way there is only one cut out. What do you guys think? Think it will make a noticeable difference? Will this kick me out of the Super Street class?

That won't kick you out of superstreet but you need to make sure the cutout is after all of the O2 sensors or the ecm will go all wonky.

its a 1993 I am pretty sure it does not have any rear o2 sensors I was going to put it after the last cat so I will only need to buy one cut out. So you think it will increase speed? How much?

Made five passes at maxton over the weekend 2 on Saturday and 3 on Sunday my best pass was #2 138.46 mph! Someone said the air was not as good sunday I hope that's the reason it was 3 mph slower > So I guess the exhaust cut out and covering the cowl help. It does sound a lot better with the cut out open, may have to look in to getting one of those electric cut out motors.

Well now its what can I do to make it faster. I could try to lower it some, I don't want to cut the springs that are on it, but I have a v6 tbird parts car I could still the springs from to try to get it down a 1 or 2" Would you cut 1/2 or whole coil? Got more ideas for free power or aero? Or I could just try to bring the SC to Maxton in April....

Did you pull the air filter out of it? My 4.6L Mountaineeer dropped a half second in the quarter mile just by propping the airbox open and removing the spare tire. lol

Russell - I'd start with 1/2. You can always cut more but it's a stinker to add it back on! I cut 1 on the Camaro and it worked out OK but it's a bit lower than you'd want a car that sees any street driving.

Sounds like a good deal. Those cars can be STUPID aerodynamic
without too much trouble. And there's plenty of room for safety
                    stuff, a big motor, etc.

I have been told the 4.6L DOHC motor it has is bigger than a 460 bigblock! The aero is very good, last fall there was a guy with a mercury marauder (similar motor) with a bunch of bolt ons and a lap top adjusting the tune. I was faster ;D

I just go around to posting an ad with pictures http://raleigh.craigslist.org/cto/2321820149.html

It would take more power to set records but it would be a great car for someone that just wanted to have fun, I can not think of another car that cost less than $2000 with very little work run upper 130's in the mile, and still be able to drive anywhere with A/C, heat, cd player.

One of my all time favorite cars - if I was closer and didn't have to deal with a child seat in the back every day - I'd scoop this thing up from you in a heartbeat. Sure seems like a steal at that price.

These are in fact the best aero of any vehicle ford has produced to date.
