I lost contact with the seller for weeks, then caught up with him and have been going back and forth over this thing since early August. I really couldn't add to my "collection" of junk so i made a decision to sell my tractor and replace it with this monster. Tom my son was sad about the tractor but excited about the prospect of owning the "big green truck".
Next week I am delivering the tractor to a guy in Rhode Island and taking that money to buy the beast which is located up in Maine. I literally could not stop thinking about this truck since I first saw it.
I have a friend with a bobcat trailer which is barely big enough to fit it. The trailer is 7' wide and 14' long.
The truck measures fine with the width but is 13'6" from the leading edge of the front tire to the rear of the back. Am I pushing it too far with trying to squeeze this thing on? If not I don't know how I am getting it home.
Cooool ;).I havent noticed this thread before,so i havent seen the bed.Looks like its got a fleetside bed??.On a 50 chassis..it also look like the former owner liked John Deere ;D
Okay, that's over... I wouldn't sweat the length at all. What I would worry about is weight distribution over the axles (it is a dual axle trailer correct?)
See a Bobcat trailer around these parts consists of a old junk axle with some HEAVY channel iron welded directly to the axle and a hitch. Sometimes even a SMV sign on back if your lucky.
I'll assume your are talking about a real trailer.
I've carried a '68 camaro, '86 fox mustang, and assorted other crap that was technically too long for my 14' trailer. Never had a problem as long as I kept the heavy end of the car on the tongue side of the axles, no matter how far the trunk hung over the trailer floor.
Tie 'er down good, we want some snow-plowing video of this beast!
Of all the paths you take in life - make sure a few of them are dirt.
This is a real trailer. It's about a 300 mile shot one way to grab this thing so a rat trap isn't gonna get it done. My buddy is a landscaper and I think we're gonna take his one ton dump with the trailer to get the truck. I have another guy (Mike Casella) scoping out other local heavy duty trailers that may be used as backup.
I got a quote of 700 bucks to move this thing from Maine to Mass....WTF?!
