People will gripe if you bring a new car. People will gripe if you have a classic cause they may not like your paint choice, wheel choice, engine choice and so on. The rule to this is you will not make everyone happy with what you build. Bring what you want, enjoy the scenery cause it is your car, your choice and your vacation. Also, if someone has something negative to say then they are not much of a car guy/gal anyway so their opinion does not matter. Hope to see you on the trip.

We have several projects ongoing, but unless everything falls right into place. We’ll be our 2011 Camaro, and our sons 2014
SS 1le. We’ll see. But, drive what you want.

We like to drive vintage cars for the tour and long hauled multiple times each in the 71 cuda, 57 Dodge, and 66 Gran Sport. We did drive the new Challenger one year, for us it was just not the same. Maybe as I get older the late model will have more appeal for ride quality, etc. However, anything’s better than not going! Get out there and enjoy it!

When it's all said and done the only thing that matters is what you like and what you like doing! Don't worry about everyone else it's all about being together and enjoying the week.

I have NO PROBLEM with anyone driving the tour in a newer car, or even a brand new one, as long as it's a cool car. I mean come on, don't bring your mom's Camry

In all seriousness, for me, it's about the challenge and the thrill of rolling in a 30-40+ year old ride. I don't believe I would have enjoyed the tours I did as much as I did without my 65 Mustang (vs say a brand new one). You get treated a little different, you get more attention... it just adds to an already awesome thing.

Someday, when it gets older, I might take the 2011 Mustang we bought brand new, but as long as my old stuff still rolls, it's Plan A or nothing.

Mid 70's and 80's stuff is finally starting to be acceptable and with a lower stance, a few changes here and there, the right wheels, there's some pretty sweet rides out there.

Also for the OP, there's A LOT of 73-87 C10s on the tour, they're awesome trucks and you'll fit right in if the 58 isn't ready.
