My right side turn signals started a go slow......and stopped altogether.
Then they would work only when the motor was running.
Hazard warning worked on both sides just fine.
Then the left side gave up when the headlights were on.
I checked all the bulbs and connectors.
Swapped out the flasher unit three times all to no avail.
Even installed a new turn signal switch.....which was later un installed as the hazard feature only flashed the right side.
Then, this morning under the dash I had all the components off the "convenience center".....
flasher unit, seat belt buzzer and two other relay type thingies.
With the ignition on I moved the turn signal stalk.......and I could hear dinka....dinka....dinka.....
I felt around under the dash until I came across the culprit.......a turn signal unit up behind the tachometer..........
The little bugger I had swapped out was the hazard lights unit.
My book says nothing about a flasher unit hidden up there.....not a word.
So to get to see it and manipulate it I had to remove the instruments.
Easy this time with the steering column dropped, because installation is a pig, canīt get porky fingers onto
the speedometer cable to connect it.
Got the new flasher unit installed and itīs all working great.
I was going to lengthen the wires to drop the flasher unit down and make it more accessible but there wasīnt enough wire to work with,
just enough to unplug the old and plug in the new.
There it is the shiny thing behind the connector........
