  • Currie TSD Limited Slip Differential

Does anyone have any experience with rebuilding these?
They are very much like the Ford Trac-Lock but seem to not have a stated break-away torque spec.
I called Currie and was told there wasn't one - just a light drag on the clutches.
This seems wrong as the Ford unit specs between 100 and 250 lb ft of torque with the optimal setting somewhere between 175 and 225.

Any experience would be greatly appreciated.

Set it up "too light". No limit slip observed would be my GUESS...
Even open rears have a torque reading on turning...

On the GM clutch/shim style I made it "lock up longer/sooner" with a very thin shim.. Too thick a shim, you lose disengagement

Hopefully my blather gets you a good response

I talked to Currie again - they were adamant about the pre-load being VERY light.
So I am going to follow their advise and see how it does.
