Battery drains 1999 GMC Jimmy

It did start this morning, but it was a whopping 14 degrees with the same wind chill, so not a real good test. There was a strap that went from the bracket up towards the top of the alternator that looked like a ground strap for some reason, just moved it a couple inches higher on the case. I usually don't like doing more than one thing at a time, but in this case I just hope it works and will start putting the relays back in when it warms up.

Well , my xar has been starting just fine for almost a week . But I disconnect the positive cable if it's going to sit over night .

I also heard that can discharge a battery. I did that after I bought the new battery and it still did not start so a problem is gonna be a problems no matter what.
