Getting a rebuilt 700r4 and want to adjust the cable correctly. Any of you guys have a sure fire way to do it right. Have look at all sorts of sites. Just want to by pass any misinformation.

Nothing is sure fire, just do it a couple times. Best case I saw was to do the closed to WOT, then see if there is 1/4 inch of play left from full tight. -

I watched plenty of videos, but I also made sure to realize you were making it to WOT. If you start too tight, it feels like the throttle is open, but you are just bending the wire that holds the end of the cable to the TV valve in the transmission. We also set up a gauge on the test port, ran some metal tubing with AN fittings so we could see where the pressure was. It never just clicked the first time like the videos show.
