Thanks Dan. For over 50 years I have had a tradition of filming the first starts of my cars as I neared or completed builds. Today we had our 22nd first start of Ethyl. The first Ethyl was a 1966 GTO. She got the name cause I was working at a Gas Station in Lexington KY pumping gas and the choices were regular or ethyl. We just started calling her ethyl, no fancy tags or internet warrior going on in those days. Fast forward 40 years and I got my second Ethyl, a 2004 GTO, the baddest car I will ever own or drive. We got her to 9.2 @ 154 weighing 4200 lies (full weight car). She was lost ten years later in a head on crash. Picked the 33 Ford up from a welder in Chicago who had suffered a stroke and could build the car. We built her into a roadster in 2015 and started to complete the build with a removable roof and paint this year. Started her up this morning so it is officially the 22nd Ethyl Roars Video
If that was MY pretty new paint job and somebody put a drink cup on it I'd geld them. Killing would be too easy on them.
Dan
My cousin is a pretty well-known car painter in the lowrider community in California. You should hear his take on people who let women sit on his paint jobs. I can't even imagine what he'd do if he caught someone setting anything but a california duster on his work... keep in mind, he's a big guy and his wife is a cop, one could imagine what he'd do then get away with....
Well it was 125 in the shop and the drink cup belonged to the guy that has to make me happy before he gets paid. I do agree about people sitting on the paint job though.
Working down the final punch list. Front Fenders installed and color sanded, working on finishing the mounting hardware right now. Also working on polishing the grill. I will probably finish that at home.
