man, this has been a long time coming. I remember when you started it. I love seeing projects move along and it is even better when you can follow them from start to finish....
However, It does make me a little sad because I have had my junk for 12 years and it still looks like shit.If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark Donohue

It's been kinda cool out in the shop lately to do any thing constructive but I did manage to order the rear suspension from Summit Racing . I went with the Detroit Speed Quadralink kit . It's built for 66-70 Mustangs but with some slight mods it'll work with my Cougar . I love working with quality parts . This is what I've been planning on using for quite some time now . You can skimp here and there but when it comes to major areas you just can't skimp .Last edited by langleylad; January 28, 2018, 11:50 PM.

I just love getting parts , Vintage Air Frontrunner , Spal twin 11" fans , and a Be Cool LS swap rad . I managed to install the Frontrunner today and started fabricating the radiator mounts . It looks like I'll have to wait another month for Detroit Speed to ship the Quadralink rear suspension , DSE told me that they are waiting on their bushing supplier to get them product .

After a long wait I finally received the DSE QuadraLink last week . I started cutting out the section of floorpan between the rear seat and fuel tank . But not after finding as much info online as I could . There's not many 67-68 Cougars that have had this suspension installed . 427 Wildcat ( google it ) is a great source of info . Once you start cutting , you want to have a plan . The cross member needs to positioned 2 1/2"- 3" further forward than in the Mustang . The stock Cougar leaf springs are 6" longer than in the Mustang so the front attachment point is in a different location and the DSE kit is based of this point .Last edited by langleylad; March 20, 2018, 03:40 PM.

Still moving forward , I installed the rest of the Vintage Air A/C , Be-Cool rad and Spal fans . I would like to hook the fans up to a PWM unit controlled by my Dominator ECM but these fans can draw up to 100 amps max and I can't find a controller to handle them . I could run dual GM C6 controllers but by the time I buy connectors and all , it's big $$$$$$ .Last edited by langleylad; April 5, 2018, 09:22 PM.
