I haven't even really driven the dang thing and my mind is already thinking about adding a turbo. Haha.

First drive!!!
It seems to work ok. We have a few little bugs to deal with, but it had great oil pressure, had consistent engine temp and it pretty much did what it was supposed to do.
It did die on us 2 times w/o any warning. Wait a minute or two and it cranks right back up. I don't know what that is all about just yet. Likely to be might be fuel related. We need to double check float levels and maybe reroute our line from the reg to the carb.
VERY happy with the cam selection. It pulls down to low rpm without any bucking and seems to pull pretty well. Good for Jake who is just learning to drive a manual trans.

We had to change the throttle cable to a stock one. The aftermarket cable decided it didn't want to slide any longer. It locked up solid. I bought a new stock one at O'Reilly's and had to fabricate a mount. I added a triangular support to it after these pics. It works like butter and is adjustable. A 1000% improvement.
We brought it home so Jake can drive it to school on his last day. If it's raining it will have to stay home because the t-tops leak, it has no wipers, it has a TIGHT limited slip and it has drag radials.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Great success. He drove it to school and ran around in it yesterday without any problems. It does have something that is draining the battery if you leave it connected overnight. I am suspecting it is the voltage reg because I read where they can do that very thing if they go bad.
It is supposed to be 99 today so I might get it out and drive it down the highway to see if it will stay cool, not boil fuel, etc on the road.

Haha.
It was hot. So I made Jake drive it down the highway and it passed with flying colors.
I also unplugged the voltage reg and my battery drain stopped, so it looks like a new reg is in order.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Everytime I read the lastest on the reincarnation of this car, I think that my parents must not have loved me. You're a good dad, and this is awesome for the kids.
(Of course, you could upgrade to a great dad pretty easy... I mean, the nitrous solenoids are right there!)

Haha, thanks! They are really good guys. Their interest and enthusiasm make it easy to want to teach them about cars and such. Sometimes it's tough to keep my hands off because I'm such a "do-er". I have to constantly remind myself that they are the ones need to be spinning the wrenches.
As for the solenoids, they are 1 microswitch installation away from being on line. Yikes.
1 step at a time though!Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.
