I have been scouring the internet for video and pics of that run. It okbuicks site has launch pics before I ran and then they pick up later after I ran. Grrr! There were a ton of people taking pics on the photo platform wish I could find some!
After BvF, I just rolled it off the trailer and did not ever try to start it. Went out this weekend and it wouldn't start. Didn't have time to fiddle with it though. Looked at it today at lunch and it had spark to the dist cap. Looked at the rotor and cap and it looked like it was trying to fire off the top of the rotor tip instead of the edge. Messed with it for a few minutes, put it all back together and it fired right up. Seems like the rotor mashed back down farther than it was before. Strange.
Rejetted it back up today. Put 86's in the primaries and 96's in the secondaries. I think it was still a little lean in Noble. Our elevation is higher here, so I went with the same primaries I ran there but jumped the secondaries up 3 sizes. I have yet to see any indications of it running rich anywhere but at idle.
I also drained some water out and put some antifreeze in it since they are saying it is going to get cold tomorrow.
John-
Yes it's the 4 corner. I flipped the carb over and I had the idle transfer slots waaaay too far open. I read a post on moparts about 'squaring' the slots and then adjusting idle mixture and initial timing to get the idle speed you want. I didn't have time to fart with all that today, and just cranked it up and let it run a bit to circulate the antifreeze. I have a feeling an engine of this size is going to have to have holes in the butterflies just to pass enough air to idle.
A wideband O2 is on my wish list, but a more finished house is higher up on that list right now.
