So, one of two things must be going on.
1) the car is full of food and crumbs
or
2) you don't eat lunch.

As if I don't have enough... haha
I'm glad I waited to swap these gaskets because if I had swapped them in Kansas I would have just put the same kind back in and possibly ended up with the exact same result.
Ok on to progress! Still doing the 'work on the house, work on the car tap dance'.
Adjusted the rockers
Installed the girdles
Installed intake and carb!
I also customized an offset box end wrench to reach the 2nd gear band adjuster and reset the adjustment on that band.
I'm considering going and getting some day laborers to come install the headers for me. haha j/k!Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

No I did not, but here are some pics.
New
Old blue
Guys have run the top ( 1018 ) gasket with high compression (15:1) and others with up to a 300 shot. It also has the little silicone (?) lines surrounding all the water holes, etc.
I also switched to the larger Cobra Jet size intake gaskets to make sure the intake is sealed up good.

Been mulling over the soft shift to 3rd quite a bit. It seems the TCI brand valve bodies have issues with this and there is a fix that involves more than I really want to mess with. In my opinion it is better to just get a proven part rather than jack around with a fix that may or may not work, so I ordered a Broader Performance reverse manual valve body this morning. Mine has a transbrake, but I really do not need or want one for what I do. Hopefully it will get here before Ford v. Buick.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Meh.... The Buick contingent is interlaced with Pontiacs, Oldsmobiles and questionable rebadged Chevrolets because they were tired of getting their butts kicked by the Fords every year.
It's a fun event because I have buddies on both sides.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.
