wow did i win the lottery with this one... aside from the master cylinder
and tires, it is all original and has been sitting here for 25+ years.

for a 60+yr old she is in AMAZING shape and plans are to patch the 2
silver dollar sized holes in the forward bottom rear inner fenderwell and
wash the dust off everything else.

i will try to get the original v8/powerflite running so they can go in hemmings
because someone somewhere must need them desperately,
and then we are going to stuff her with a nasty 454 and a 4 speed muncie.

hey silver buick, guess where that 2x4 intake is supposed to go now? see,
good thing i didnt put it on the 454 vette, hah hah....

hopefully 55 chevy fenderwell headers fit, the cars are very similar.

a straight axle front, 3 feet of lift and a small 'moon' type tank hung under
the front bumper, and the 15x4 ansen slots i got hiding in the closet should
work great on the front end. widened stock rears and pie-crust 30x11.50 repops
should work great on the back end. looks like a mopar 8.75 type axle, but
everything i read says that started in '57 not '55-- i wonder what it is?
worse case i hit the junkyards and look for a dana 60 truck rear, right? right !

i lamented in an earlier post how it just didnt seem like there was any way
i could pull this off. (and honestly, the build itself may take much longer than i want )
yet, somehow the planets aligned right and we got it for (drum roll please).......

$3250.00..... with a clean hawaii title and plates in storage so NO back taxes.

stay tuned, we are bringing her home this saturday morning....
and i really need to go do something nice for my wife as shes my partner in crime
in every crazy scheme i get us into. she was all for this one, no hesitation at all
when we rolled up to the guys house--we didnt even get out of the car yet and she said
"if he will take less than the $5k i got in my purse, BUY THE DAMN THING- we can worry
about how to get it home later"...

hey, anybody want to buy a vette with a snarly 454?

I wonder what Randal is going to say (Silverbuick) about this.

Love those. The '55' and 56es seem to be sort of forgotten cars. BTW - from what I can see it looks like a '56 though I can't see the front or rear clearly. Why not be a sport and go with a BBC and a TorqueFlite? Torque for days and it FITS the car.

If I had hit the lottery (the only way I'll ever get rich) I'd send you the $$ for an Indy-headed BBC - or a Hemi. Sadly, it seems we're both po' folks.

Methinks FGZ needs specs for readin'

I call it having a certain gravity. After all, the larger the body the greater the gravity.

ok, so shes finally home in the stall.
what a p.i.t.a. it was getting her there.
immediate plans are a new 6V + ground
battery, oil and a shot of carb cleaner
down the throat and see if she'll wake up...
                      stay tuned...

i know ive said this before, but it bears repeating--
                        everything is proportionate. EVERYTHING........

yeeeeaaaaah, buddy ! brother cliff hooked me up with
                              a '57 t-bird 9" rear axle, complete drum to drum for $200 !
i think it may be a "posi" of some type, its got a weird cone
shaped (for lack of a better word) carrier. looks sorta
like a trac-loc, but i gotta do some research.

should be either 3.10 or 3.70 gears, i think its the 3.10
as the t-bird was an auto/V8 but either way im sure that
                              468 will pull it.....
