where the oranges grow and race cars go.

clips unedited, for all their worth. Simply compiled all of them together chronologically.

I drove down from orlando area, the ford excursion or expedition.. don't know fords.
big as a suburban with a twin turbo v6.
    strangely fast

every 5 miles south the temperature went up a degree or two. I was in the sun and 85F while most of america was in a strange flow of cold.

    beyond a dream.

Florida and NC are both adopted states for me and I love them both. I'm glad that you enjoyed your time there.

it is a good natured place.
I have had 4 first cousins an uncle, a niece there for a long time, some stayed.
        some have actually passed on.
my last time through there was dad busting ass in old tractor trailers, 38 years ago.

he wants me to go with him next month, I have a feeling he is doing the last of something.. now 66yrs old.
florida was a very common destination.
he'd probably have a heart attack at the sight of what we knew as rural florida...or what I-10 going west has become.
he drove it when it was all new.

the haines city/kissimmee rte 17 etc.. I hope to see his description of then and now.
        We'll see how it goes.

my memory remained vivid.. the whole trip decades ago.

I guess I just missed the rob ferretti project car challenge
by my own choosing over the youtube recent years, I am subscribed to more than half the people partaking in the fun. I would have enjoyed that.
