  • So How Good Are Your Painting Skills.....

My friend, is redoing an old Willys Wagon, it's going to be a Woody(well sort of)..... What do you guys think??, this may not be the final product as he's been trying different looks, but it does give you an idea of what he's got going on....

I was once shop neighbors to Lyle Fisk (I still have one of his business signs in my garage, see: http://lylefisk.com/ENTER.htm ) and I think he would dig that work. Nice stuff.

My mom, once a commercial artist, tried and tried to get woodgraining right and was never happy. It's not easy stuff without some special talent.

I've seen both ends of the spectrum when it comes to painted faux wood panels. It takes some serious time and energy to get them right. These look fantastic.

Looks like the "Stippling" found on the woodwork of several old houses we've renovated. It was quite the trendy thing to do at one point in history.

Seems your friend has the method perfected, nice work.

Very nice work and you are really talented to be able to make it look that real.

The French people call it Toompe L'oeil which means to fool the eye.

I watched a friend of mine air-brush all the chrome trim on the side of a 57 chevy people would walk up to the car and touch it thinking it was real.
They could not believe if was not the real thing.
