Airport Drag Race in Atlantic, Ia Sept 16, 2017

A friend of mine is putting this event, and I am hoping that people will flock to it.... :-)
the best way to ensure it happens again is to show up, show support, support the food vendors on-site....



I know I wont have time to get my Camaro running for this event, but I'll be there with my 49 Chevy and my shop truck Suburban.


Atlantic is about exactly in the middle between Omaha and Des Moines.

I got these 2 305-35-20 Nitto drag radials in today, hope the Hellcat replica wheels come tomorrow...

this event went off basically without a hitch!
we had between 150-160 cars/motorcycles/trucks go through tech inspection.

had roughly 1300 people through the gate, though it was probably more....

only had 1 on track incident, a radiator hose burst on a legit race car, so it was only water and the racing didnt stop for very long.

we had people from as far as Grand Island Ne show up... more than a couple hour drive each way.

hope we get to do it again next year.

me teching a local kids Challenger. was his dads car, was apart for decades.
the dad died, all his friends rallied to get the car put together... neat story

Excellent! Anybody run in the low 1's? ("The low 1's" was a brag by a friend of a friend who drove a stock, beat-to-crap 455 Cutlass - you know, the type with a snow tire on the right front).
