    Bowling Green, Kentucky - May 2-4, 2008
    Beech Bend Raceway Park
    INTRODUCTION

After a month off after the Season Opener in Bradenton, the NMCA heads northwest to good old Bowling Green, Kentucky. This 6th annual event, hosted by NOS, is always one of the NMCA season highlights. And since the event is in May, you can also check out the Beech Bend multipurpose amusement park offering a wide variety of attractions for the young and young at heart. In 2006 the brand new wooden roller coaster made its début, so bring your family to this event and they won’t be disappointed. On the track you’ll see all of the top names in street legal drag racing, a Burnout Contest, and an exhibition show. Off the track, you’ll see the huge Auto Show & Shine, as well as a killer swap meet and vendor midway.

I'm sure we'll head out. Course Sat night George Clinton and P Funk is playing downtown and also they are starting quater mile drags at the SuperSpeedway in Lebanon so it's gonna be a tough weekend.

Is Bootsie Collins gonna be in da house? Where's my pimp-ass sunglasses with the rhinestones? "...gotta have good funk!"

We hope to see you at Beech Bend. Man, I love that track. Covered grandstands, great concession stand, airconditioned restrooms.

The best part about the track at BG, though, is standing at the fence next to the starting line and almost being able to touch the cars. Yes, you are THAT close to the cars. It is amazing how it feels when the drivers stomp the loud pedal and you get to feel the concussion of the exhaust as they leave the line. I wish I would have been able to attend one of the NHRA Hot Rod Reunions at that track.

Ron, let's say you and I head down town and see George Clinton? Bring your ear plugs, and of course, your "Flashlight."

            I have just the ticket...

Ladies and gentlemen, it is my pleasure to introduce you to a young man who has the pimpinest ride in the NMCA: ANDY WARREN!

This car has 10-second potential and seats 6 comfortably. Johnny, this guy lives just down the road from BG and will be at the race. Maybe we could hook up a photo shoot with George....?

Ok, I just got off the phone with Jeff Knox. For those of you who don't know Jeff, he has a car that runs in Tremec True Street at some of the NMCA races and if funds hold out, he will be racing at WSC in St. Louis, too. Jeff has a 1972 Nova with a large by huge big block Chevy on a huge hit of nitrous oxide. Jeff will be running at Bowling Green in the TS category May 3 and is on course to be the FIRST NMCA True Street car into the sevens! After testing last weekend, he posted a 5.23@128 in the 1/8th mile on 315/60R15 M/T drag radials. The best part is..... the car weighs 3600 pounds!!!!!!

You all are not going to want to miss this.

Man! Bowling Green was a blast!!!!!

Jeff Knox absolutely laid waste to the Tremec True Street record with an astounding 8.34 second average. Check this bad boy out!

Folks, this is a STREET DRIVEN monster! With a Ty-Tech built, 598 cubic inch big block Chevy under the hood with enough spray to deplete the ozone layer, this thing absolutely SPANKED the competition. Remember, this is the class where the drivers must complete a 30-mile cruise, complete 3 back to back to back passes and at no time are they allowed to open the hood. On his first pass in competition, Jeff put the car on the bumper TWICE and still ran an 8.68!!!! His best pass in competition was an 8.16, but earlier in the day, during testing, he clocked an 8.06. This thing is a freakin' animal!!!

If you like this.... you have GOT to be at Atco in June!!!!! Ferrucci, Schankweiler, Sticker Dude and, Craig Cusimano.... where are you?????

If you run through the muffs on DOT tires and have the car registered and insured, you can definitely run in True Street. In Memphis, we have a police escort which rivals that of a presidential motorcade. You can find all of the class rules online at WWW.NMCADIGITAL.COM. If you have any questions, feel free to call Jeff on the NMCA Tech Line (714) 460-3813. You can also email me at [email protected]. We would really like to see that big, bad Dodge running with us.
