RUSTY '56 CHEVY BEL AIR WAGON

This here’s Chad’s calling card. After a 59-day thrash to get it on the road, his ’56 debuted at the 2005 Hot Rod Power Tour, where it caught the eye of the magazine editors who chose it for a feature story on budget rods that appeared in the October ’05 issue. After that, Chad drove it on two Hot Rod Drag Week events. The wagon body is channeled over a complete ’94 Caprice 9C1 cop-car chassis that still holds the original LT1 engine, though it’s been augmented with an EMS Pro controller and a ZEX nitrous kit. Excessive displays of lowness and bumper dragging are frequent thanks to the full Air Ride Technologies suspension. Rusty was Chad’s daily driver for two years before the starter broke, and as of July ’08, it’s sitting in our shop awaiting a new starter and a performance and appearance makeover. And, no, that does not mean it’s getting painted. Ever.

There is another thread about Rusty where the few pics that Chad has are posted. Search back a few pages in the projects section.

Damn skippy on that!

Hey Chad, your toys get SERIOUSLY overlooked...what the latest on "Rusty"?

Personally, I'd turbo THIS instead of the '66.....or perhaps a ProCharger.

There is no such thing as too loud or too fast.
