wow, that's a decent lift...
Holley has a great tech line - have you run your numbers by them to see what they might suggest?Last edited by SuperBuickGuy; August 15, 2012, 08:17 PM.Doing it all wrong since 1966Comment

on the passenger side of the carb is the choke setup. There is a lever that keeps.the secondaries from opening when the choke is closed. Make sure that it not stuck or out of adjustment. Also, the secondaries air door at the top of the carb has an adjustment that is spring loaded. There is a screw on the side.that adjusts the spring's tension. Below that going up is an allen head set screw that you have to loosen first. The spring should keep.some tension on the air door. You dont want them to flop open. Be very careful not to overtighten the spring and break it.Originally posted by real57vetteguy View PostI'm 100% sure they arent opening, but it isnt due to low vacuum. My '70 Caprice's Quadra bog is sitting in the storage closet. It worked fine, but I replaced it with a Holley 3310 almost immediately after I bought the car. I even let a friend use it for three years on his chevelle.Originally posted by real57vetteguy View PostBelow that there are four bolts that need taken out and 6 ft from the front of the car there is a round 55 gallon drum, take out the bolts and throw it in the drum....... hahahahahaha I'm just kidding, Thanks for your help it is greatly appreciated, I will try that this evening!BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

I am seriously considering buying a carb from Patrick James from Prosystems. Any one using his carb?Comment

Never personally used one, but have read about lots of people on a variety of forums that have. I have never seen even an internet complaint about his products.Bakersfield, CA.Comment

Thats one of the main reasons I was thinking of using him, and on top of that I have heard compliment on top of compliment about his customer service. It seems he takes calls all weekend long and all hours of the night on his cell to help people.Originally posted by cantvalve16 View PostNever personally used one, but have read about lots of people on a variety of forums that have. Well.... I didnt like the looks under the hood, nor the finish on the intake/valve covers so I opted to do a little "changing" things. I smoothed the valve covers, used a different paint and VHT coating. Got the Pro Systems carb, changed the wiring. Added some AN style fittings, ordered some brackets from billet specialties, changed plug wires, I am now waiting on a new Dist from pertronix with the rev limiter.

PVC port on the righ hand side cover....Originally posted by milner351 View PostI'm still hungover from dragweek - but, I don't see any breathers, or pcv ports in either valve cover, what am I missing? Actually there is a pcv port we added to the Edelbrock intake right in front of the carb and a port on the passenger side valve cover.Originally posted by milner351 View PostI'm still hungover from dragweek - but, I don't see any breathers, or pcv ports in either valve cover, what am I missing?
