The wife got me the shirt as a joke, because if you really knew me, you'd know that I'm one of the hardest working guys you'd ever have met......... And I'm thinking you didn't get on a roof to snake a drain in 120 degree heat today, did you??........ Though it is true that I slack on my cars, but that's because I don't slack on everything else.........

that is a nice rig. would love to see that coming down the road.
local, back when that generation was new, there was just a handful that beefed them up to be sport. regular s10, gmc s15, etc. the problems were about as bad a frame breaking datsun or chevy luv when power was beefed up. skinny tires, bouncy and pouncy...

anyway, I live for these conquerings. nice truck.

Syclone was built one year only.. Went to Blazer style body..Called Typhoon..
Syclone is 4.3 powered, turbo'd Quick and fast little pickups. Full time 4X4 with almost no ground clearance.. All suspension travel is on the upswing.. Bottoms very easily... There is even a sticker that says "max load 350 pounds" on the tail gate
The front pumpkin is from Astro vans.. Not the normal small S-15 pumpkin.. Tires are wide but do not stick out.. Width goes inside..
30 mph corners at 80 is not a problem with these pickups.. Completely hotrodded at the factory

Wikimedia Commons has media related to: GMC Syclone
The GMC Syclone is a high-performance version of the GMC Sonoma pickup truck. Produced in 1991, the Syclone spawned the similarly powered 1992-1993 GMC Typhoon SUV. Another vehicle, the GMC Sonoma GT, offered less performance but was seen as a companion model.
At the time it was introduced, the Syclone was the quickest stock pickup truck being produced in the world. Auto magazines compared its acceleration favorably to a variety of sports cars including the Corvette and - in a memorable comparison test in Car and Driver magazine - a Ferrari. Featuring a turbocharged 6-cylinder engine, all wheel drive, and 4 wheel anti-lock brakes, the specifications had more in common with a Porsche than most other pickup trucks.
Both the Syclone and Typhoon trucks featured a Mitsubishi TD06-17C 8#cm

I read someplace once that there was supposed to be an Astro Van version too but it never made it to production. I think it wasnt stable at high speeds or something.

A guy came into the shop a couple weeks ago looking for an a/c part, and when i asked what motor was in his Astro, he told me a 305. ???? This was a curious thing to me so I said, "are ya sure? the computer doesn't show that engine as available." He says " Oh Yeah. I bought it all stock from a little old lady and I just got done replacing ALL 8 plugs in it." I asked, "Would it be ok if i go out to the parking lot and look at it to make sure its a 305? I wouldn't want to get you the wrong replacement part". he said "ok"
well that was the first 305 i've ever seen with only 3 plugs per side.... has anybody ever seen a v8 conversion in an astro? I've heard of them, but never actually seen one. I ended up telling the guy that the puter lists the replacement part for a 4.3 but the front of a 4.3 is the same as a 305, so this should fit your van.....he went away happy.
