    Fastback.....lots of room....poor accessability

I wouldn't reccommend going to all the trouble of a trailer just so you can carry spare tires. Just bring a patch kit and little 12 volt portable compressor. If you are really paranoid about it, bring a couple tubes just in case you have a bad puncture that a patch won't handle.

I did power tour with no spare, 4600 mile round trip and I did get a puncture. I just fixed it in a parking lot at Abe Lincolns birthplace.

Jeff, if you use an inside patch, centrifical force at 140 mph will hold it in place! I wouldn't trust a patch that some kid at the local tire shop did, not at 140 mph anyway. I would trust a patch that I did myself. Because if I wasn't 100% certain that it would work, I wouldn't patch it. If there was structural damage to the tire, I wouldn't run it on the highway or the track.

I forgot this part. I'm running Cal-Trac split mono-leafs. No issue there per se, but you may want to back down the preload on the bars as all the junk in the trunk, the passenger or trunk monkey (for you Joel) and the tongue weight well really drive the links pretty hard. You may also find you suddenly have pre-load even if you normally run an air gap. I figure it's not good to use the Cal-Trac bars and the springs in bind as an equivalent to an overload spring. BTW I have done this without a problem but I still don't like the idea. I more or less had to when I ran DW without a trailer in '06 and '07 and the car was stacked full of everything.

Hey, didn't you hear? I graduated from Trunk Monkey extrordinaire to Hired Gun! Jay's going to let me drive his Mach I on Drag Week, while he drives his Shelby. So I get my own Trunk Monkey apprentice. I'll be able to train him in on the finer points of Trunkmonkology, stuff like changing my tires, carrying my extensive collection of designer luggage, putting a mint on my pillow at the hotel, etc.

Thanks for the replies guys. After consulting further with my trunk monkey I think I will forgo the trailer idea.

I went to Uhaul and they listed a hitch for my 68 Camaro. They were not in production but they have their own mfg plant so I ordered it. It was about $150.00 and it works great.

I like to pull my DW trailer when I go out to the local track. Gives me a semi-secure place to store my tools/jack/whatever while I am away from the car or in the staging lanes.

James I can't help but notice all the extra room you have on your trailer. Shouldn't you add portable grill and beer keg attachment? I'll bring the red solo cups.

I had spare tires on the back last year. May need to rethink that for this year though.
