It'll be great to see and meet ya there Mike. This event is going to be monumental fun!

Alert to EVERYBODY: Bring your BS t-shirt and a bass player.

What we do know so far is that it'll definitely be BYOB. The food arrangements are pending, nothing drawn up. Who wants to bring a pig and cook it? (just a thought.....)

Ron Ward - will you be bringing a keyboard? If so, will it have a designated amp for it?

I have a toy keyboard but it's crap, has a dead middle C key as well.

I'm counting amplifiers and mics. We can do this, all of it. Every bit of it. Just counting....and waiting...wanna be sure I bring enough stuff. Coming up with a scheme for the sound setup. Gosh golly this is gonna be fun. Heck it's been fun already and we haven't done it yet!

Peewee is right about the interest in the "party". We have had a number of calls at the store from people wanting to purchase tickets. We tell them there are no tickets, just show up for the fun. I am not sure where the information about the event has spread to, but it sure appears to be working.

I have heard from some of my friends in the industry, and a number of them are planning to attend. One of the official hosts of the PT plans to be there.

We have an offer from a local friend. He has asked about doing a barbecue during this party. I hear his BBQ is great! We will have to get a rough people count as it gets closer.

My wife thinks I nee to notify the local police so they don't freak out when all these cool people andcars show up. I think I will wait to make that decision.
If it was easy, everyone would do it.

                peedub,

I've been away from the forum for awhile. I have been a bit distracted by a pretty gal and a 1969 Road Runner of late...

I can and will play bass as needed, though I am not Geddy Lee or Cory Duplechin. Unfortunately, I do not play keyboard, nor do I have access to one.

Cleveland is out... his boss is being difficult. I am now looking for another copilot with musical ability. We may end up with a trumpet player. I'll keep you posted.

                Ron

edit: As for Free Bird, I feel that song is best left to the guys who originally performed it. I feel the same way about Stairway to Heaven. Now.... we can sing Stairway to Freebird all night and I don't have a problem with that! LOL

It's really no different than trying to glue them back on after she has her way.

That....we may need to hire a few of them to direct traffic, from the sounds of it.

The barbecue is a fantastic proposition. Whatta way to go. Oh HELL yeah.

Guys, I WILL be there with a stage full of equipment.

Just bear in mind, I am not a solo act. I can at best play along with other folks who are playing at the same time. As this thing grows in magnitude (and crowd, and expectation) I don't want anybody, especially the strangers there, to expect an excellent music show. Unless we put it together ourselves. We are not a practiced "band." We'll never even meet each other in person until that afternoon.

I'm bringing music and sound stuff. What shall we do with it? This is a serious point to me. I'm not a musician. I'm a player. To me, there's a huge difference. It's worth a mint to me just to meet a bunch of you folks in person in a party atmosphere, yeah, that's it.

I AM bringing the music stuff. It's a ways away, so far ahead of time, WHAT shall we do with it? I'm a guy who needs a plan, a path forward. A plan, at least.

All of this fell on me today. I'm real slow, thinking about things.........I went crazy playing in a band that had no song list. We don't need to be that structured, but I at least need to know for my mind that there will be a few folks up there making noise....

Yeah, I'm flipping out. But I will be there. With a lot of sound equipment. Let's do something with it.

I play drums - and I'm planning on being there - I can play along to just about anything - I won't promise to have all the breaks and fills memorized to every song every played - but I can improvise my way through most stuff without making a complete fool of myself.
There's always something new to learn.

Pretty good player - and I really enjoy him on "Pawn Stars". I'll stick with John Entwhistle but he's dead and that's a different thread anyway.

And John - you don't need to be drumming to make a total fool of yourself! (Sorry, but I know John and just HAD to say it!).
