Loooool. We're not far from the slopes in New Mexico. Been skiing since I was a kid. It snowed on us all day long. Makes for a long day with the kiddos sometimes.
Oh and no ten gallon hats in sight!!Last edited by BBR; March 2, 2012, 04:10 PM.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

If they ski like me they are screaming "Get out of the f*ing way!" and then spend the rest of the weekend drinking and sitting by the fire in the ski lodge getting the cast signed by ski bunnies. Ben Franklin used to wear a coon skin hat in France, which he never did here, to get the attention of the ladies. HA!
Watch out for that tree!
Truer words never spoken for some of us. Just ask Sonny Bono.
I don't know all that much about Amarillo, but I saw more dress up cowboy/girls last year while in Seattle than I do here in the Dallas area. Y'all need some new stereotypes. lol.
I'm starting to question the existence of this shiny new part. No photographic evidence!Flying south, with a flock of bird dogs.Comment

you wonder why I didn't care about the 3500 year old tree - for the same reason Sonny Bono was pro-deforestation.
it's true, we do have too many refugees from Texas up here; you can tell because they're all friendly, say "y'all" a lot, and keep looking bulls to mount.Doing it all wrong since 1966Comment

I gave a token "yee haw" once today just to adhere to your stereotype. Great day of skiing. Great snow, temps in the 30's and sunny. Decided to go ahead and drive home. Just got here. I'm beat.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

I must explain how those stereotypes happen.
So today, we had lunch at a friend's house; and a new guy has joined our group... he's from Texas. So here's the conversation "boy, there's a lot of hills here." yeah, I reply. "Boy, those are big trees," "uh, yeah" is my reply - after all, these things seem slightly obvious and unremarkable to me. Then he started talking about going jogging in Discovery park (google it - it's flatland to me), he said after 6 miles he was dying.... I said "is it flat in Houston?" "uh, yeah" was his reply....
So now I'm convinced that no one in Texas has ever seen a real hill. Thus, the stereotype of "yeehaw" seems fitting.... plus, I've seen Dr. Strangelove, and that's a factual representation of a Texan

a) Houston=Flat, New Mexico=Hills. Houston has large man-made hills. See Port of Houston.Originally posted by SuperBuickGuy View PostI must explain how those stereotypes happen....So now I'm convinced that no one in Texas has ever seen a real hill. b) Dr Strangelove=Ely Nevada, contact one TheSilverBuick regarding 10 gallon hats, yeehawing, riding man-made objects.
Glad you made it home in one piece, did you remember to bring the family?
Now about this mythical pulley... pffft.

Texan's stereotype of people from Washington State:

SBG, I like you, but please don't have shotgun for breakfast.
Since we came home early, I am going to install said mythical pulley this afternoon. That is, if I can get my calves (on my legs, not in the pasture) to loosen up. They feel like a bus ran over them. lolLife is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Hey Moe!

No liney up! Craaaaap!!!

I feex!

Funny how a quick pulley swap turns into a afternoon long adventure. Blah.
With it idling in the driveway it took forever for it to get to 180. Drove it around and water temp got to 185 and just sat there.Last edited by BBR; March 4, 2012, 03:20 PM.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.
