Its sitting next to an Abrams tank in one episode. I got screen time in another, the last one I worked. Someone here got a screenshot of it. My Caprice got a flash on that episode too.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

I've been driving the car since I got back. The clutch is set in now. I took apart the carb and cleaned it out cause it had six month old gas in it. The brake pedal is slow to come back for some reason. I noticed grease on one of the rotors too. Weird. I'll grease up the pedal shaft where it swivels, then investigate the power booster/master cylinder.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

After driving it to work this morning, I'm pretty sure the problem is the CPP booster. The amount of boost varies from good to none.Originally posted by Rebeldryver View PostI've been driving the car since I got back. The clutch is set in now. Is it grease on the rotor or dirty/greasy brake fluid? With your description, it sounds to me that you have a a leaky seal on the caliper.Doing it all wrong since 1966Comment

Its just a spot about the size and shape of the pad. I went looking for leaks because of this. No sign. Maybe just from the car sitting unmoved for six months left it.Originally posted by stoneshrink View PostIs it grease on the rotor or dirty/greasy brake fluid? it's just a guess on my part - I had a truck that had similar issues and the cause was a faulty caliper.... but there really wasn't any sign it was leaking. the only way I know what it was - when I replaced the caliper the problem never returnedDoing it all wrong since 1966Comment

Here are shots of the car on set with the tank. The tank isn't really an Abrams. It's a British Centurian that has new body panels welded on.

This is the screen shot.

I found some pics of my Impala I shot right after I moved to LA 12 years ago. It still had it's stink bug stance and the body was at I bought the car three years earlier. I shot these with my Dad's 1965 Nikon F and a Nikkor-Q Auto 1:3.5 f= 13.5 cm telephoto lens. This was up on Mulholland Dr looking back over the San Fernando Valley.
I liked, still like, the look of the car, but it drove horribly.

This was taken at the beach just after I lowered the car. It's overexposed a bit.

Love the look after its lowered. Are the front tires as far outward as you can get without rubbing?Si vis pacem, para bellumComment

They got pushed out by 5/8th of an inch on each side with the disc brake conversion, after these pics were taken. The front's have never rubbed.Last edited by Scott Liggett; May 29, 2011, 10:57 AM.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

Possible Drag Week Participation Plans
Thanks to Randall, I may be going on Drag Week 2011.
I am wondering what I should do to the car for this, or should I just leave it in it's mostly reliable, and slow, shape.
I just replaced the trans, clutch and scattershield. I have the 8.2 in. 10 bolt with 3.36 gearing, GM posi in it now. I have a 12 bolt, GM posi, and Richmond 3.73 gears that would need to put together and installed.
The 383 sbc short block is old and tired, but still runs good. Built in '94 and has around 75,000 miles on it. The Vic Jr heads, Comp XE288HR cam are three years old.
There is no cage, don't really need it, no driveshaft loop. I've had issues with the wheel studs and the lugs that have closed ends so the inspectors can't see how far the threads go through the lugs. There have been arguments about how much thread contact I need. I'm also using the original seat belts.
I don't have tons of cash to throw at the car. I'm wondering where I should start, priority wise, to get the car prepped.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

Buy some studs and nuts. Or run stock type steel wheels.
