    Re: Grand National Roadster Show

I'm going tomorrow (Sat) probably leaving here about 8am. Guessing I'll get there around 10. I'll wear a red shirt, either snap-on or 426 hemi. That'll make me slightly easier to spot.

    Re: Grand National Roadster Show

I went today. McGann couldn't make it, so I went alone. Lost the vinyl top on my Caprice half way there.

All the big dogs were there today showing off their newest rides Here's a list of who I got to talk today:Troy Trepanier, Chip Foose, Steve Strope of Pure Vision, the Hot Rod TV crew, Crew of Car Crazy, HR's new editorial director Jerry Pitt, Troy Ladd of Hollywood Hot Rods, Bill Hines, and Michael Anthony of Van Halen. I also talked with Paul Le Mat, Candy Clark, Bo Hopkins, Cindy Williams of "American Graffitti" and the guy who now owns the Milner duece, Falfa's 55 Chevy and the Camaro from "Aloha Bobby and Rose" Paul Le Mat signed my copy of the movie.

    DF, Sorry I missed you.

I will post some pics once I get em loaded. My camera's battery crapped out on me right after I got Building 4 so I will post what I got.

Sorry about the vinyl. Are you going to replace it, or paint it?
I'm planning on taking quite a few pictures myself tomorrow. I'm getting really excited like a school kid for this thing. Glad to hear it was a good time.

The vinyl was really old and cracking. I was going to replace it anyways. The paint under it is in fantastic shape. I just got to get the old dried glue residue off it.

You can see the pics in Project Cars Update thread.

Here's the view of Mt Baldy from the parking lot. I bet it's even better today now that it is clear.

Yes, it does snow in LA County. We trajecally had four deaths from avalanches yesterday at Mountain High's resort.

I'll get more pics loaded as soon as Photobucket decides to work correctly.

    Re: Grand National Roadster Show

    Here ya go.

The few cars outside had to do some quick rain protection.

Hemi powered roadsters were out in number

This is the "Sunday Go To Meetin' " pickup. You gotta save your best overalls for riding in this baby.

58 Impala, I love the green paint on this one.

I guess I am prejudiced. I walked around this 65 Impala for nearly an hour. Oyy!!!

There were dozens of old school rods, some ratty, some nice.

This is one of few cars with 409 swaps in them. This one claimed to be a 62 409 hp dual quad. Something tells me those rear tires are all but useless.

A veteran of the Pan American races. Very cool.

This dual quad powered 57 Chevy is a real veteran of LSR at Bonneville. It had dozens of speed tags. It did 166 mph in 1966!! Yikes!! It must've taken 8 miles to slow it down with drum brakes.

    Black n Nasty

    Satan!!

The only tow truck that is cooler than any show car. This one can carry two as well!!

My favorite Nova, 70 SS 396 four speed. I even like the color

Lowrider, casino on wheels. I think I saw this car thirty years ago.

Inland Mopars brought some of their stuff out.

One wild 65 Mustang Fastback. It was a bit much for me.

    My favorite T/A.

Check out the skulls in the flame job.

My battery's crapped out on me just after taking the last pic. Unfortunately, I missed getting shots of all the major players in Building 4, Trepainier's First Love 36 Ford and Chicayne; Hot Wheels Twin Mill and Deora II; Hollywood Hot Rods Respect Tradition Roadster and european themed roadster project; Pure Visions 70 Charger, 72 Torino GT, Z-28 Nova; and many more.

Hopefully some other carjunkies will post those pics.

    Re: Grand National Roadster Show

Just got back. Met Chuck and Lillard (bbbad2dabone), both really nice guys. Called Denise, got no answer. The pics are being uploaded to my computer now. I too was having battery issues with my camera, but I got some shots. I'll try not to duplicate what reb put up. I got the twin mill and deora II, but I didn't get the respect tradition roadster (I bought a Hollywood Hot Rods T-shirt though, cause Troy seemed like a really nice guy and I dig what he's doing). I'll try to post pics tonight, but I might crap out and do it tomorrow.
