Help me find old thread about street tire recommendation instead of ET Fronts

Guys, I remember an old thread about tire recommendations for street tires instead of ET Fronts.

If we can't find it, please chime in with your recommendations. They will be going on the Pigcar. 1960 Chevy Brookwood.

    Thanks in advance.

You mean a front skinny substitute, right?

165/80R15 got mine from Firestone, Pepboys has stopped selling them, or you can get them at any place that sells old-style VW tires.
That steely eyed look I had behind the wheel was me trying see..........

some manufactures size it as 165r15.

in my opinion, there are only a few brands that look good. some of the 165r15 or 165-80-15 tires look like snow tires.

the brand on my camaro is "Centred", an off brand, but at the time it was the best looking tread i could find. the new brand I would buy today is called "Nexen".

you can get BFG Radial T/A in a 155-80-15, but holy crap they are MONEY...

Not to mention speed rating. I'd hate to have a pie cutter let go through the traps.

Which is why I'm ditching my VW fronts this season and going to front runners. 94 MPH on Volkswagen tires is a little much.

mickey thompson makes a cool tread skinny in their SS/R street radial line and mine have gone 140 mph plus more times than I can count.

Wow, they are proud of them too. Thanks for the line on those, they may come in handy on another project.

The Nexen's mentioned above are rated at 1200 lbs each. I can't find load ratings on the others. Speed won't be and issue on this car either. The reason the ET Fronts are on there now is because I had them laying around waiting to go on the Camaro. The ET Fronts did well last summer on the street, about 5000 miles worth but I might be going on a 5000 mile road trip and don't want to be that far from home on strip only tires.

                    Thanks for everyone's input.

The sidewalls of my M/T sportsman S/R states 990 max pounds at 35 psi and load range B if that is helpful.
                      They are 26 X 6.00 15 R LT

Thanks for looking. I wonder why they don't list it on their website.
