You'll need thermal underwear, get some shoe's with thinsulate in them to keep the feet warm along with some wool socks. Being that cold put on a pair of jean, and a warm shirt. And top it all off with a set Dickie or Carhartt insulated over-all's and Jacket. And don't forget a stocking cap for the old noggin.

Sounds like you have it covered (pun intended)

You definitely want a scarf or some sort of face covering......

My advice is to bring as many warm clothes as you have.....When you get back inside- change to warm clothes.

Hot Chocolate is your friend. Keep a warm drink with you at all times. No Booze it will get you in trouble quick.

Get a couple pair of gloves....I like the kind with cloth backing and rubber inside....They only cost $5 at the Gas Station.

If all else fails.....Bring Brake Cleaner and a lighter. Portable bonfire

Dave, you got it figured out.
I Live here in Wisconsin and it will be much warmer this weekend than it is now. High of 20 on Saturday and a few ticks warmer on Sunday... Normal winter temps, No big deal.
Depending on your arrival date, you may miss the subzero stuff.
If you have any questions about this wonderfully frigid state, let me know.
We get these cold snaps about once or twice a winter, :P they are usually only a couple days in duration.

    Happy travelin'

Go to a ski place and rent the warm stuff. Being cold sux and don't take long. I'm having my second winter since 1969 and daily I think I got enough gas money to go hide in Florida for awhile.

Hands and feet is the next issue for me , mine friggin freeze right away .

Where are you flying into? Wausau maybe? Just get to the Mills Fleet Farm store on US51, just north of downtown. Then buy Carhartt Arctic lined bib overalls, a Carhartt Arctic coat, and Carhartt stocking cap. Or a fur lined trooper hat, think Fargo. Ski wear and you're gonna look like a tourist. Oh, also get some Sorrell boots, you're going to be standing on ice all day. I was hoping to be able to attend the ice drags when you were going to be there, but I have to wait until next week. After the races, there will be a number of taverns in town. Every Wisconsin town has several. Order a Brandy Old Fashioned Sweet. Warm ya right up

I'm assuming you'll bring a camera. Leave the gear back in the hotel, just bring the bare minimum. Make sure you have Zip Lock freezer bags that your camera and lens will fit into. Keep the camera in your coat as much as possible, then before you go where its warm, put the camera and lens into the ziplock bag and seal it up. The condensation will form on the bag, not the camera. Also battery life will be about a quarter what it normally is.
You may not like the upper midwest in winter, but most of us who live here love it. Rusty cars and all. We cram a years worth of car events into a few short warm months. You won't find a friendlier bunch of car guys, or just people in general.
I inquired if the ice drags ever get canceled due to cold. They said they are running no matter what on this weekend, because "Some guy from Car Craft is coming to watch".

It's spelled Toque, and the Quebec language police would give you a spelling ticket for that up here. No, really.

Keep the camera inside your outermost jacket if you can, and keep a couple extra batteries packed in an inner pocket. When the first battery dies from cold, stash it back in the same pocket so your body heat warms it up and you have power again. If you don't already have Sandisk Extreme III cards, get them. They'll withstand the cold better than the Nacho Cheapo brands.
