Awesome list and agree with #1 pic 100%. But what about the lifted 2dr Tahoe in Tango and Cash? The Autocar Diesel in Over The Top?

The original Convoy song that was different from the one in the movie sold six million copies in six weeks. Who says truckers don't have purchasing power?

As a trucker, I'd have to mess with this list. B J McKays VIT100 Kenworth, Rubber Ducks RS700L Mack, Will and Sonny's W900 from Movin' On, but thats just me. By the way, theres a surviving truck from both Duel and Convoy, search the St. Louis Dump Trucks site. They like to scare the crap outta people taking the Duel truck out for a drive.

You're spot-on on the Duel 281.....

There's still a few of the K-100 Aerodynes from the BJ and the Bear series around....2 that have been restored, and some guy by the name of Sagehorn runs a replica out of Wisconsin. Incidentally, this guy also located and restored/shows/occasionally runs one of the W-900's from the Movin' On series.

The R-model Mack from Convoy was bought by some concrete outfit in Missouri, and was rolled...totally destroyed it.

I believe some guy used some salvaged parts from the wreck to build a replica.

Joe Clecko(the football player and had a cameo in S&B II, was in the bobtail 359 with the stacks up the back of the sleeper) supposedly owns the W-900 and trailer from the first S&B movie(old noisy-ass 1692 caterpillar sounds like a coffee can full of ball bearings).....I was raised on the old iron(and fiberglass in the case of W-900's), and have had the good fortune to have ran some of it...definitely screwed together better than a lot of the newer trucks I've driven.

The A-Team van was definitely part of my youth....as was the Fall Guy GMC.

Photos taken at Iola, Wi., 2007. The BJ and the Bear tractor was in Waupun this year, I stood there for 15 minutes trying to get a shot of it, but the crowd would not cooperate.

Come on you guys what about Maximum Overdrive.........remember the clown truck.....a drivers worst nightmare a truck with a clown face driving itself........ :o

Also does anyone remembers Joaquin Phoenix's truck he drove in "Clay Pigeons"....it totally reminded me of being in South Dakota where everybody has something lifted on a Chevy of Ford frame........

In "heart like a wheel" there is a sweet dodge dually burnout scene. Too bad the dodges didn't get very much screen time as they are, in my opinion, the coolest, heaviest duty trucks. Didn't Walker Texas Ninja Ranger have a 1500 dodge? C'mon, who else put a B series in their pickups. And you didn't include the R series Mack from convoy(sounds like an 8v92 detroit).

Its 3AM and I just woke up with the Mack Tanker from The Road Warrior in my head, OMG!, just the sound of the air starter is enough to scare you. I thought of the Western Star from Max. OD too but, someone beat my to it. The sound of the 8v71 Detriot Diesel was the same as my Dads Diamond Reo Wreaker, both would make women and children run for cover.

A recent one, the tractor trailer in the new "Death Race" movie, uuumm, kinda reminds me of another tanker set up for battle, maybe not so cool after all. And the General from SmokeyII, I use to think it was cooler than the KW when I was a kid. I'm glad I grew out of that, I'm going back to bed now.

Thanks, didn't have my copy of the book handy...

In some ways, Mad Dog was even crazier in real life than in the movie. The scene where he ran over a tree driving the truck off road to scramble onto the interstate was inspired by the way he started the real life Cannonball by ramming through a chain link fence.

AMEN, I was about to post the same thing!!! That clown truck scared the crap out of me as a kid! The fact that the Duel truck was included more than makes up for that oversight though. I actually found a copy of Duel at Wal-Mart a couple years back, couldn't believe it.

Extra bonus points for NOT including any of Walker Texas Ranger's lame strobe light equipped trucks, and making the Fall Guy truck #1. Everytime I'd see the opening credits with that wicked jump I'd go nuts, and tried the same thing with the die-cast replica given to me one Christmas.

Learning the Duel truck is nearby (I'm in Missouri) is beyond cool, I gotta see it in person now. Can't believe I hadn't heard about that before, and I work at a truck dealership.

By far the coolest Top 11 list so far, good job guys!

In Convoy the sounds of a Detroit were dubbed in. Every movie truck must sound like a Screamin Jimmy to Hollywood. The actual truck was Mack Tip Turbine equipped, as can be seen by the two air cleaner hoses. They even dubbed in Detroit in Black Dog, after Patrick Swayze makes such a big deal about how he loves Caterpillar power.

Most of the 700 R model Macks had the Mack V-8. Trucker buddy of my Dads had one, he use to say it would pass anything but a Mack Garage. My Dad use to say Detriots were a device made to covert Diesel Fuel to Noise! Look on youtube for Tyrone Malone. 2-strokes forever!!!!!!!!! ;D
