When its 102* I'm happy to have them, the rest of the time, not so much.

We've got a couple of eucalyptus trees right at the front of the property. At some time in the past someone didn't like them and hacked them down to 6 foot high stumps. Which then proceeded to grow weak branches that approach 50 feet tall. Every once in a while one comes crashing down. I need to just cut it all down and dig out the stumps.

    But that sounds like work.
    I'm still learning

It would have been smarter to listen to the injector guy, running one cylinder 10% lean is a recipe for disaster. In a real running engine anyhow.

yep, that's the quickest way to blow up a Buick straight 8.

that makes a lot of sense - replace all 8 injectors because one isn't flowing right.... you're a smart feller there DG

not that I'd convince you or care to, but for the edification of the others reading this post - yeah, that's why they come in "matched sets." it's actually more difficult to replace one in a set than simply "ordering up a replacement - I spent 3 hours flowing 20 *OEM* AC Delco injectors on Friday to find 8 close enough to test on an engine. I'm guessing your injector guy got a chuckle that day LOL

For some reason, at 90.00 a piece, I'm guessing Bob does not have 19 spares laying around...

What's the rebuild process on a high dollar injector? Is there one?

I recommend Ammonium nitrate for stump removal.

Jay Brown had an ID2000 injector stick shut after sitting unused for a season, they were very helpful explaining how to unstick it by pushing on a part with a small screwdriver. But bob has a direct link to Paul Yaw, I am sure he can figure it out. My guess would be that, worst case, send the whole set back to ID and have them find a new matched replacement or set. ID has been a great company to work with, they are the Motec of fuel injectors IMO: high entry price, but when you need support they make sure you get it ASAP and they dont put monkeys in the call center like so many other manufacturers.

electric - I dunno. Diesel (I suppose I should say "old diesel") - replace the needle (if necessary), and replace the springs then use washers to balance the injector opening/closing pressure.

                  there are stumps in Texas?

twice. The big one was in 1947 in Texas City. God help those folks. West is right next door to location X where I keep my junk. 11 miles from my house.

Works best if you don't blow up the entire plant, just a small amount. I imagine Randal knows a little about it. You probably have to go to a golf course supply to get 21-0-0 now.

The alternative for me is fire.

I pickup the transmission on Tuesday.

We'll get this going in the right direction, yet!!!

Looks like I'll take my oldest son to Sears Point next month. His first time, ever, driving at the racetrack. We'll use the Miata. Geoff has steadily upgraded it, better suspension, better tires, 20% more power, so it'll be a pretty decent little ride for him.
