looking good. Soon, you'll be sitting behind the wheel and it'll no longer be necessary for you to make the zoom zoom (or vroom vroom) noises, the engine will do it for you
Went ahead and purchased a new oil pickup, hopefully it'll fit just fine. Also got a "care" package from my head porter with some odds and ends I was missing.
Today, Geoff, Scott and I packed up my buddy Roger's roadracing car and hauled it up to his house. He retired about 5 years ago, and built a beautiful house up in the mountains near Nevada City, CA. We've been trying to sell his car for him for several years, and with the down economy, and the fact that there aren't a lot of places left that have series for big-bore cars, we haven't found a buyer. He needed something to do, so he's going to get the car back on the track and then try and sell it. Running, racing cars are easier to sell than cars with flat slicks and 5 years of dust. The trip up and down the mountain was fantastic, beautiful weather, and a kick to road trip with the guys again.

New pickup was also too short. I cut the flange off the old one and it fits perfectly as a spacer. I'll put it on a reference plate and lap it flat. A couple gaskets, and longer bolts and we're in business.
I spent the evening taping up the cam cover and intake, readying them for paint.
I'm not sure why, I've never spent anytime on that kind of stuff before. I'm a little worried that I've become infected with "waxerism." Next thing you know I'll be shopping for lawn chairs...Is this how it starts?
Oh Lord...is there billet in my future.

I think this is a symptom of not driving a cool car in too long.... once you get back behind the wheel and run around a bit - your priorities will be re-aligned properly.
(if you buy a set of March pulleys - we'll know it's terminal)
