Most hang around and lurk. Others post and occasionally speak up and
participate. Some step right in.
People also live busy lives, they will, and do come back and post.
Scare folks off? Maybe those less car-centric folks.
I've been a member of a few different clubs and organizations and it's always the same. Out of 100 people, 20 like to "do" and the others are just happy to "observe", maybe it's human nature.
8 days logged in, 57 posts, guess I do lots more reading, but when I have a question I make sure I can't find the answer on google, yahoo, or other search, first. I read the blogs, tech articles (learning from others), and look at photos (especially one photo thread lol).

I try to avoid posting just to post something. I hope I can contribute not just bump up my post count. I am not saying anyone here does that. Just my personal feeling to what I put in the Forums should add value. I saw I could help transferring the Jav from west to east coast, so I jumped in. If I felt I could not have helped I would have kept my keyboard quiet
I just have a disconnect when it comes to knowing when to shut up. I just gotta ask questions. Even dumb ones.
Besides, knowing that some of the folks that are on here are among the most knowledgeable in their respected fields, I gotta soak up some knowledge. I've learned more here in the last few months than any other place I can remember.
Unlike some other sites, where you get suspect info from joe schmo, and Chuck Schmuckatelli, who have difficulty differentiating their posterior from their humerus/radius/ulna joint (elbow).
I try to help when I can, and of course the occasional foot in the mouth WTF comment from left field...but for the most, I tend to lurk mainly in the general section...some times the tech.
I agree, this site is awsome, not too much grief for posting if you don't know much on the topic.
One of my things is, I am great with 72-79 Ford intermediate stuff, like the Torinos and such, and can tell you how to pull one apart and put it back together, but when it comes to engines, and trans, I consider myself just a basic knuckle dragger...never done my hi-po stuff, just basic bolt ons. I look at guys who can tune holley carbs and go DAMN because while I have the basics...-shrug-...I just want to get in my car, flip the key and smoke the tires...not worried about what it pulls in the 60' mark.
I sure as hell enjoy reading stuff about the hardcore guys and some of the stuff they go through for their machines...and to me anyways the lack of bashing brands {for the most part}.

2020...Bad business decisions make for interesting stories. 2021...year of singing "99 problems but an asshole ain't one" 2022-2024...my GTS ate my motha' truckin' wallet but boy does she fookin' move now.
2025... I'm just trying to live my life and have fun.
