Heck, I have been working at the repair shop 7 days a week and haven't had a day off since April 10th-good to be busy, doing well enough to buy a shop truck ( see s1s has a new big block) but I am too old to put in 70 hours a week. Oughta be letting up soon, as I have hired some part time help, and I am taking 3days off the next 2 weekends to recharge some. Fairlane will get back on track later this year, hopefullyOriginally posted by fordman View PostRun the Fairlane at the track yet?67 Fairlane 434 ci/464 hp/488 tq-RIP

Glad you didn't find me dangling there on the edge-spent a few weeks there this summer.Originally posted by ksj2 View PostI looked on the edge of the earth for you and thought you had fallen off the fac.LOL Glad you are still amongst us.Better to take the time and do it right.Wish I would follow that advice.
While I am not sure how "right" it is, I used push-loc for the fuel supply/return lines and they are done. Mounted the fuel pump relay and got the hot wire on the pump and the rest figured out. We also finally have throttle linkage and return springs, properly spaced fan (still need shroud-someday) and some work in the shifter department. Hopeful to have the shifter done early next week.

you have nothing to be jealous of-while I tinker and move forward about a foot a year, you put another 50,000 miles on your car!! not to mention that with ANOTHER fresh engine-and I have yet to steer mine around the block, except on a flatbed!!Originally posted by TheSilverBuick View PostLooks super clean! no photos tonight-carb is mounted correctly with gaskets and ready to run, fuel pump wiring 90% finished, fuel cell foam investigated (see my fuel cell thread in gd) exhaust options considered-I think I need some fabrication help. The po was using a 289/c4 set up and when they put the subframe connectors in, they rewelded the factory crossemember mounting gear to its original location. They did a really nice job of it, but to truly build the exhaust this car deserves, it needs cut out and reconfigured and a new crossmember built.
I will have the fab guy accross the street look at it tomorrow, although he is always unobtainable and expensive. reinstalled the hood pins, did some other piddly stuff as well.Last edited by stage1scott; October 2, 2011, 06:03 PM.67 Fairlane 434 ci/464 hp/488 tq-RIP
