The mere thought of being under Bernie Eccelstone's dimunitive thumb makes me wanna turn left, too.

Hell, people thought Nigel Mansell had bruised his gourd when he bolted from F1 to go run Indy cars.....not always about the $$$(but you already know that).

I don't recall names, but I could have sworn I've heard several nascar guys say they wouldn't race F1, they just like NASCAR better. I'm thinking it was the working environment, but NASCAR has changed A LOT in the last couple years, when I heard that, so that might change as well.

Dario Franchitti couldn't seem to make it. Lost his sponsor because not being able to make races. He went back to Indy or F1, I forget which.

This boy is a good driver, and NASCAR seems to be a good fit.
His biggest problem, he's not Michael Schumacher, and to be
really good in F1, you need to be a robot.

JPM has a temper, and that doesn't jibe with open wheel racing.

I don't know what F1 drivers get in dollars and cents, but I wonder if Montoya isn't looking into the future and figuring there might be more money further down the road in NASCAR than there would be in F1. Of course winning would improve one's chances.

On the other side of the coin, I think NASCAR is soon to hit a wall (pun intended). The money, I think, will soon dry up. GM has already indicated sponsor money and such is going to be cut. I can't imagine that o ther sponsors will not soon be in the same boat.

To me I think there is more prestige in F1, but I guess prestige does not always equal more money.
