Front drives are a piece of cake - once you get the mindset. They are NOT like rear drives. I can knock pretty much any front drive front end apart in a half hour. My son has never worked on rear drives and couldn't figure out what was wrong with the driveshaft on the F150 because it didn't have a spindle nut to remove. He started taking the pumpkin out before I caught him.

no driveshaft pics? How about a picture of the yoke inserted in the trans as far as it would be with the existing driveshaft?

Mustang driveshaft after TH400 yoke swap with NAPA conversion u-joint.



Start of crossmember modification. By moving the crossmember to the rear of the factory mount and sliding the tubes forward in the crossmember itself, one of the bolt holes actually lines up with the TH400 mount holes. The other will need drilled. Not bad for a crossbreed.... will just need to make new rear body mount for th factory crossmember.

I have to plead guilty..... of house renovations. :'(

We've had some moisture problems in the basement of our 200 year old house; I was hopeful that last falls project of digging out the basement (lowered floor 2.5'!) and installing a modern sump with tile under the floor would completely cure it.

It cured it but not completely, more like 95% cured. There is still one little place it seeps in when it rains hard.

So I got a big 'ol burr wedged somewhere, and took my little backhoe out and have been digging around the whole foundation and laying in a tile on the outside as well. IF THIS DON"T DRY IT COMPLETELY I'M GOING TO BE >

Anyways, the mustang sits. Have been gathering stuff for the electric fan setup though, HHR fan showing up this week!

My projects have been in a similar coma lately, I've been working on the boats - so that's not all bad, but doing lots of house work too.

Sometimes I think I should have listened to my Mom when she suggested I get a condo to live in maintenance free, and a building somewhere else to use as a work shop.... My home and work shop are 8 miles apart now but they both require too much maintenance!

And how exactly did you get all the dirt out to lower the basement floor 2.5 feet? Did you dig below the level of the old foundation? Holy excavating project batman!

The house in Ann Arbor was an old timer and the basement leaked when I got there (it was ME's house). After calling in a basement guy, he looked at me like I was an idiot (well......) and suggested we slope the fill AWAY from the house and add downspouts. No charge! I did both and ran the downspout outflow thru a line and into the adjacent side yard. Problem fixed. I'll wager you already looked at that but I thought I'd bring it up.
