Stop by when you up next time and I'll take you for a ride. I drove by that Olds show today long enough to take pictures of all 16 cars. There were 5- 49's, 7 Cutlass/442, 1 Vista Cruiser, 1- 54 , 1-56 and an 03 Aurora. Oh, and at least 4 judges. They weren't a very hospital crew. Only talked to 2 guys about their cars. Heres a few pics:

Sounds like these guys wanted to show their cars off the each other. Reminds me of the Van Morrison line, "All the girls walk by, dressed up for each other". If I'd been a judge I'd have lured you to show yours, too.

Got to beat on the Roadrunner this week and found a bunch of loose bolts in the process. Going to take it to a Mopar show next weekend in Sacramento. Took the Olds out about 80 miles worth of driving and only used a half a quart of oil, maybe that ZMax stuff helped. So while I was doing the Olds car shuffle I tripped over the fender skirts. I thought I would scuff and shoot one white to see what it would look like...These pictures are 100% better than real life. So how about a vote: Stick them in the rafters for eternity or sandblast and paint them to run on the car from time to time when I get in the mood? Looks like I have to do a little tweeking to them and the quarters to get them to fit nice. The RR tire is the only small tire still on the car. I need a rim because that one is bent. I got it back in the shop to continue on the rest of the door panels.

I'm not a fan of skirts. But, hey, it's not my car; it's yours. If you like what you see when you step back and gaze at your car, I say go for it.

I like the skirts. Maybe spend a little time on the gaps and smoothing things out. Blend them in a bit. Cool.

I'm going to add to this. If I could get fender skirts for my T-bird, I would ;D

The skirt is fitted without the new rubber seal got with them, that should help the fit. It does have somewhat of a 1961 Futuristic look to it. My bodyman buddy asked me the other day when were going to start the body work on the Olds ;D I told him I want to leave it alone for now. Man, this thing would look good with a mile deep white paint job.......... scratch........ding..............dent.........no thanks

I dig it with or without.....i think that if youre gonna roll with the skirts it needs some 2 inch white walls and a full on hub cap instead of the dog dish...it would give it a bit of a custom sled look...imo....

Im a fan of options.....it is nice that you can change it up if & when you feel like it..........keep the skirts as an option....find some old t-top storage bags and store them in the trunk if you like..........

Not a fan of the skirts, but if you ever decide to sell it they are probably worth $1000 as a "vintage accessory". I'd paint 'em and stick them in the rafters for future generations.

Yeah... Don't really dig the skirts, but they might look ok on the bubbletop version of that car. I don't feel they go with the post roof on yours. However, like others have said, it's your car and thats all that matters!

Vote No... don't fit well enough to look good. Reminds me of fake portholes. Get them to fit well and they'll be alright.

Thanks for all the input on the skirts. I made a major score for the Olds this weekend. I took my Roadrunner to the Mopar show and got a 3rd place , while there I went through the swap area and found 2 items that have been on my list for awhile: 4 Blue seatbelts for 10.00 and a new transmission cooler for 20.00. I'm on vacation for the next week so maybe I'll get to work on it. It's been above 100 degrees around here all weekend and my Classic Auto Air didn't let me down. I think I may start collecting AC parts for the Olds. I got this unit and 2 fans for 10.00 also at another swapmeet.
