I hadn't planned on bringing a helmet and I don't look forward to unloading all the "stuff" in a parking space somewhere so that I can go through tech.

i hadn't planned on doing the whole tour this year but i'm thinking now i might as well go all the way. i think the first leg would be a good choice.

we however took the drivers meeting suggested route and arrived after dinner. we will be stopping to watch and film the drags. maybe some hot laps if we are in 57 Gasser mode.

2 things to consider for Racine leg.

1. This will be a sunday...the dragstrip( weather permitting ) will be in use w/ regular racing.
so, it won't be like monday was last time. monday is a closed day normally for GREAT LAKES DRAGAWAY.

2 Looks like there will be a BRATFEST 2 . time and info. to be determined. we need MOPARJIM71 to get us some donated JOHNSONVILLE BRATS...

MAYBE IT SHOULD BE A LUNCH STOP INSTEAD! Then everyone heads to venue for whatever and however long they want... need some feedback on that!!! we'll have to work that out.

What i am saying is... you wont have an open dragstrip .....and unlimited runs. the other stuff is out of our control. 2 years ago it was a down day and open dragstrip.

i had planned on doing the last 3 or 4 stops but i think it will be closer for me to drive to madison and do the whole thing than join in the middle which is further away and just do part of it. and if i don't start at the beginning i'll miss the Bratfest again, and i don't want to do that again.

Mikee, a lunch time bratfest would be great. That way if the weather is good, those that missed downtown Racine could go to the venue. Just my .02 worth.

Sounds like a plan, Bob (I mean it's the shortest leg, and maybe would include a stop at Bratfest 2, if Mikee pulls it off (unless there's a drag racing stop (?); anyway, Bob (and anyone else), if you check out www.powertourhotels.com the cities listings actually has the stops at South Bend (county fairgrounds) and Somerset (some place called Center for Rural Development). Anyway, a google search can get the addresses, then mapquest or another search can get the hotels and their locations......rexx

That and the fact that I drive a Ford with hard to find parts has kept me off the drag strips on PowerTour.
Sure would be nice to be able to buy all my performance parts at KMART :o

Works for me. It will be the first driver's meeting so attendance stands the best chance of being high (or would that be attendees stand the best chance of still being high : ). Might be pretty tired if I end of driving all night Friday to get to Madison but that shouldn't keep us from hanging with the gang on Sunday.
