Too easy to get seperated in that crap hole with the tolls and construction.

in 07', some people took a ferry across the lake to avoid chicago. also, someone said somewhere that you can book the ferry ahead of time. i'm getting old, details are fuzzy, but does anyone know what i'm talking about?

Yeah, I remember. But the ferry ride can be quite expensive, even if you figure gas and toll cost, the drive may be cheaper.

Current prices are $70 per person one way, plus $80 for the car. Plus a fuel surcharge of $12 is added to each passenger and vehicle fare, and $2.50 security fee for each fare. You're looking at $263.50 for two people to cross the lake. If it does end up being South Bend, you'd still have 125 miles to drive after the ferry docks in Muskegon. I don't think so!

If we cruise together to Racine, which is fine with me, it appears we will be stopping at a Drag Strip on the way.

The cruise with freaks to Madison Last year, I won't forget for a Long Time, having Vic Edelbrock Jr and his buddy Fred going our way after giving him directions in rest room line, Cstmwgn passing on the shoulder at light speed, Tom keeping up and wanting to pass, Blake and Ray driving to way to fast, I love this Stuff.

we however took the drivers meeting suggested route and arrived after dinner. we will be stopping to watch and film the drags. maybe some hot laps if we are in 57 Gasser mode.

I could have sworn that at no time I had more that 2 wheels below(outside) the line - does that really count as passing on the shoulder? You guys have to remember that once you get that farm truck wound up it takes a while to get it slowed back down - yeah, that's it - a very good explination for last year's behavoir.

I would be happy to observe the freaks 1320 feet at a time.

unless you have a really bad a$$ car, they usually lighten up about the helmet requirment.

maybe what can be done, is every one meet at a spot at the dragway, and whom ever is running can dump their stuff by every one else. every one could hang out at their leisure and head to racine when ever, as it's so close. i'm sure someone will have a cooler with librations. since this is a short drive day, this might be the best time to get everyone in the same place. just a thought.

Hell I ran at Memphis with no helmet and all my crap in the bed.
